WEATHER COULD CAUSE CANCELLATION THIS SAT!

So, I am freaking out. This is my third and final shot at the LSAT. My PTs are finally in the 170-173 range, and I am feeling confident.

Of course I live up in Jersey and they are predicting 6-12 inches of snow Friday night. Finding out about the cancellation is not my worry, my worry is, if it gets cancelled, what the hell then?

Do I have to wait until June? I heard they have rescheduled for a few weeks later.

I cannot look at LSAT material for more than 3 days. I am over this test, I want to be done.

This is an FML x 1000000000.

I am already looking to stay in a hotel Friday night.

Whatever happens it sounds like you need a "Whoo-saaahhh" moment. Deep breath.

Forecasts change quickly -- don't assume anything. There's a thread somewhere on the board about someone whose test was canceled due to weather in December. The LSAC sent an email to him/her that said there would be a different test in "a few weeks" or something.

Edit: Found it:

I just want to take this freakin' thing. And not on Super Bowl Sunday. And not on Monday when I have work. And not next week so I get another week of freaking out.

Keg, got some info from LSAC:

if it is cancelled, they always provide a make up within the next couple of weeks. I was worried I would have to wait until June.

I am planning on getting a hotel, you should think about the same.

I live about 15 minutes from my test center. Any hotel would probably be further.

I feel the same. I live in DC and am taking it Saturday. They are calling for 3inches. I am crossing my fingers that it comes Saturday night instead. Like you I cannot stand look at another LSAT book again and if it is postponed to next Saturday that is bday and that would really suck.

Ouch, that would suck having to take it on your birthday. I'm leaving for study abroad in a few weeks (and definitely do not want to take it abroad), so a cancellation is not good.

So it looks like LSAC will just send us an email the morning of the test if it's canceled? Also, anyone know what happens to those who can't make it to the retake?

email on friday if it is bad friday, otherwise LSAC is there in the morning at 7 am. I plan to wake up at 7, call them and/or check the website.

This is total bullshit, mother nature can suck it right now.

Weird question but... if the weather really sucks in the North East/Mid-Atlantic, will they cancel it EVERYWHERE for everyone... just to have it all administered on the same day?

no, they administer a different exam. LSAC told me today they always have a backup test.

If you can't make it to the retake they either refund your money or allow you to register for the June test at no charge.

So does that mean it would show up as an absence, or would it just not go on your record at all?

There is a 70 percent chance of a snowstorm from several sources, even NBC.com and Chris Cimino on my facebook feed has made predictions of snowstorms from Friday night into Saturday in the Tri-State New York City area.

If anything the LSAC (Law School Admissions Council) should begin preparations / announcements as soon as today / immediately in regards to test takers in the New York City area to avoid confusion on test day.

This is not only imperative but also a necessary step on their behalf. It's good that the did make notice of the weather conditions for test day but they should make announcements today. I even called my center but they were not certain.
