CSS Profile question about parents' contribution

Post by preepak » Tue Dec 26, 2017 11:12 pm

My parents are putting me through law school. I put down the tuition plus other expenses for expected parents' contribution, but my dad insists that I should put down "0." He says it's an expected contribution, and obviously he can change his mind.

I'm really, really uncomfortable doing this. I haven't submitted it yet, and I'm wondering if this is as bad as I think it is. If it is, could I get an example of the consequences of this?

It won't make a difference anyway as far as I can tell. Aid is assessed on parents' ability, not willingness, to pay. Besides, most schools don't give much/any need-based aid anyway.
