Go mess around with mylsn.info with your numbers for an odds picture with your hypothetical/real numbers. My inclination is that both are comparable.

Based on my observations, Cornell is more splitter friendly (particularly later in the cycle).

170/3.2 . Its anecdotal but I was rejected from Corenell and accepted at Penn.

I think both are comparable, but Cornell might have a slightly lower GPA floor. It's also a little easier to be a splitter at Cornell than at Penn because Cornell has a lower median LSAT.

That said, the real splitter-friendly T14s are Northwestern, UVA, and Georgetown. Check out this thread: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 2&t=162680

Cornell had a relatively rigid floor for non-URMs at 3.3 for many years, but I wouldn't be surprised if that has changed in light of declining apps

I'm not sure I'd agree. Strictly for biglaw I believe NU outplaces UVA.

Yeah, LST agrees with you, but UVA has the edge for biglaw + clerkship. They're still relatively close, though, so going to Northwestern over UVA is obvi defensible.

Totally. Def peer schools. Each made me worry for a different reason, UVA with the school employed fellowships, and NU with the "how many of these people got jobs because of better work experience / will I stand out at OCI" thing.

I'm a splitter who got both. The consensus I've gotten is to apply broadly as a splitter bc the cycles are unpredictable. Might as well go for both, among others, and see what happens. Additionally, I think splitters need to go the extra mile and demonstrate specific interest wherever they apply.

It also matters how extreme of a split it is. +1 to the others who've mentioned NU and UVA as the most splitter friendly, even in more extreme cases (def NU). I've seen that this cycle and LSN seems to back those claims as well.
