LSAC.org Redirecting - Feb 2013 Scores Delayed Again

Post by vayze » Tue Feb 26, 2013 10:53 am

I am trying to access lsac.org and it is redirecting to some crap site named register.com
I tried adding www
I tried google searching and accessing it that way

You might have some adware or malware on your computer. Have you tried other websites or browsers?

From my phone it now goes to register.com

It is possible that they failed to update their domain registration.

Definitely a domain issue.
Maybe LSAC can't pay their bills..

From my computer at work it is still going to the correct site.

The domain appears to be registered through early June of this year.

Perhaps their DNS server is failing to respond to all request.

Perhaps people should submit their transcripts and LORs to reddit, I am sure interesting things would result from this.

Also not working for me. I'm trying to register for the MRPE. WTF? Did they not renew their domain name?

Figured I'd repost this over here:
If you're using a mac or linux and want to access a status checker (or LSAC) but cannot try this:

open up a terminal and type: sudo nano /etc/hosts

move to the end of the file (just press the down button) then paste the following:
64.9.4.155 lsac.org
64.9.4.141 aces2.lsac.org
Press ctrl+o, then return/enter, then ctrl+x.

Wah lah!

(note you may have to remove this later - it's simple to do, just run the same command, "sudo nano /etc/hosts", then delete those last two lines, then press ctrl+o then ctrl+x).

For you windows users, can't help ya, sorry.

Easy to do on windows too, you just need to paste the exact same lines into your "hosts" file (that's the full filename, in quotes, there). It's pretty easy to find if you google something like "windows host file."
