LW citation question

In memo citations, is it improper to cite to portions of the case that state the facts? Are we only suppose to cite to the court's holding/reasoning?

There is nothing wrong with citing any portion of an opinion. And yes, you should cite the facts. Just don't ever cite west law headnotes/summary or the syllabus in SCOTUS cases.Venom wrote:I am talking about citing specific lines of the opinion...
