Will we still have to take state bar exams or will this be a UW-Madison type deal?

I don't support closing of law schools. Without TTT's I would not have had the opportunity to attend law school at all. Attending law school ended up being the best thing to ever happen in my life and I legit am grateful for my original school making it possible for me to attend and prove myself. I realize I am in the minority here but that is how I feel. My opinion is obviously biased because it all worked out for me in the end.
I think a much better system would be making it harder to get loans rather than closing schools.

Uhm, so instead of closing bad schools with bad prospects, you'd rather make it more difficult for people who barely get into great schools to afford it?Lawl Shcool wrote:I don't support closing of law schools. FWIW, poor people aren't as smart as people who aren't poor, so I think this makes sense.Lawl Shcool wrote: I think a much better system would be making it harder to get loans rather than closing schools.

\int \frac{dx}{1+ax}=\frac{1}{a}\ln(1+ax)+C \ , where x = number of law jobs, a = total outstanding loans, and C = US news rank – 47.
The answer is clearly...42.

TBF, the widespread availability of loans is what caused the proliferation of shit schools in the first place.alwayssunnyinfl wrote:Uhm, so instead of closing bad schools with bad prospects, you'd rather make it more difficult for people who barely get into great schools to afford it?Lawl Shcool wrote:I don't support closing of law schools. Re: Should the # of law schools be capped at 50 were it possible
I guess it would depend on what he meant by "making it harder." If he means on the individual borrower, I think that would be unfair to cut out the main source of funding for non-wealthy students. But I do think that schools should be limited in how much loan funding they can receive per year, or being required to take a stake in the loan process by being required to take on some of the burden of defaulting loans.Broseidon wrote:TBF, the widespread availability of loans is what caused the proliferation of shit schools in the first place.alwayssunnyinfl wrote:Uhm, so instead of closing bad schools with bad prospects, you'd rather make it more difficult for people who barely get into great schools to afford it?Lawl Shcool wrote:I don't support closing of law schools.
