Right, it opens Fall of 2014.
Perhaps. It's going to be a rough one in Austin come January.

Not sure I like an entire state w/o a law school.

Southern University has a KICKASS marching band.

We now start evaluating schools' rank on actual employment/salary data instead of library size and merit aid per student. Then private lenders take over to evaluate risk. THE END.
HYS would collude and we'd see $100k/year

I disagree with this. Both of these schools serve a purpose. KU is for the KC Metro area and Washburn is mainly for western Kansas. East and West Kansas are like two different states.

Bayou Classic, bro. Get with it. The game where the battle of the bands is more important than the football being played.

One Law School (1)

Put it in the middle of Nebraska, they rank us 1-30,000 after each term. If somebody wants to hire a lawyer, they call The Law School.

Well, I hope that increases the quality of the school over the next few years.

You could make this argument for most of the schools with two states, like CO, NE, and KS. The thing is, though, these schools split their employment between both schools, so you end up with 2 schools that only place 50% of kids into bar required employment. Eliminate one, everyone goes to the other, those markets will still need to be served, etc. It's not like difference between Michigan and MSU where one places nationally and the other at the state level, these are both regional schools.
While I agree with the other states mentioned Washburn has just as good or better stats than ku most years

I'll agree with this. Keep both ND/SD and I'm on board with the whole thing. Pancakes seems to have a reason for Washburn, so that's cool I guess. Also, I think I would keep both W&M and W&L. We're closing a lot of DC schools here, so the saturation won't be as bad in the city. Having both won't be a bad thing and they're solid schools.

For laxbrah: I have no argument to support any of this. I just like the concept for no reason.

This is the 21st century. We have air travel and cheap/free long distance. Do we really have to go to Nebraska?

It would need to be a place that would have room for 30,000 extra people.

But we can probably do better than Nebraska...

Not only is it in Nebraska, but if you want to drop out, you get a 200 yard head start and then the Law Review people (like all 3,000 of them) can snipe you.

See, I thought about that - but the thing is, each school serves a specific market. UVA is national, Richmond is Richmond, and both W&M and W&L feed into no particular market. I don't think you need both.

Also, to solve this ND/SD dilemma, while we're at it we combine ND and SD and rename it "Dakota", then admit Puerto Rico as a state to keep the even 50 balance.

Aight, I'm down.
