Chicago has two deans: "Dean" and "Deputy Dean". What does the deputy dean do? When I write a letter to the dean, to whom should I address it (if I had to pick one)?
Thanks.

Re: What is deputy dean?
Sounds basically like assistant or associate dean, except maybe directly under the main dean instead of in charge of their own department (e.g. admissions or financial aid). Address them as Dean Whatever.
