Hey all,
I'm planning on relocating to attend Tulane next fall. Half of my family (my Dad's side) is from Louisiana originally. I also have a cousin, Tulane alum, who is name partner at a small local firm. TBH I think my ties are mediocre but I just wondered if anyone else had thoughts on relocating somewhere outside their birth-state but with at least some ties.
Thanks!

Re: Louisiana Ties
I'm doing something similar so obviously I think it's OK.
Having a family who is both a Tulane alum and a partner at a small local firm can help. Tell employers that you have family who are actively practicing in Louisiana and love it. I think you'll be able to float those as ties.

Re: Louisiana Ties
you already have better ties than many Tulane LS students just by having a relative in a firm.

Yeah, I'm an undergrad here. If the law school has the same composition as the undergrad population, then you'll find that LA natives are definitely the minority. There are probably more people from New Jersey than there are from South Louisiana.stefanpdt wrote:you already have better ties than many Tulane LS students just by having a relative in a firm.
