T2: 51-100

I believe that's how most people still view it, but I have also heard that US news is now considering the top 100 as T1... so idk.

Not to be picking but aren't there only like 200 law schools total in the US?

So would there be a T4?

I think USNWR arbitrarily cuts the third tier off at 143. TTTT would then be 144+

The way we at TLS rank and the way USNWR used to rank is:
T1: 1-50, ranked numerically
T2: 51-100, ranked numerically
T3: 100-150, no numerical rankings, just a tier
T4: 150-200+, no numerical rankings, just a tier

Bowing to pressure from shitty schools whose feelings were hurt by being lumped together in T3 and T4, USNWR now ranks thusly:

T1: 1-100, ranked numerically
T2: 101-200+, ranked numerically

T1: 1-50 (This year, Yale through American/FSU/Southern Methodist/Yeshiva)
T2: 51-100 (Loyola LA/Pepperdine through Syracuse/Louisville/USF/UoP)
T3: 101-143 (Chapman/St. Louis/USC through Campbell/Loyola NO/New Hampshire)
T4: Schools below 143 that aren't ranked relative to each other. (Includes Ave Maria and Cooley, though some ranking systems put Cooley as the number 2 law school in the nation.)

There should really be a T5 for schools that are not ABA accredited. California has a lot of those. (Such as San Francisco Law School.)

That's probably the only unaccredited school that shouldn't just be summarily burned down. They charge peanuts for tuition and do exactly what they claim: give people a legal education to help themselves/others.

You mean how the Cooley Rankings rank Cooley 2nd in the country, ahead of Yale and Stanford?
Talk about self-aggrandizing.
The Cooley rankings do not deserve to be mentioned, except as an example of why not all rankings should be taken seriously, or as an example as to why Cooley can be accused of misrepresenation (or worse)
{note: I am not stating that Cooley is doing anything wrong http://tcattorney.typepad.com/digital_m ... udent.html )
