I feel like voting for him to stay just to keep him out of the dating pool. Since he might be in Northern CA I might encounter him at some point and that scares me.

I also fail to see how wanting to move with him for law school makes her "needy". I think most people in a serious long-term relationship would contemplate moving with their significant other.

This is a joke, right? I'm a bit concerned that so many posters took the OP seriously...

She's nuts. You're probably also a little nuts. End it, start over somewhere else in the country, without her.

I thought the same thing-- maybe OP is a flexityflex alt? Anyone seen flex around lately? Although OP didn't mention collecting cologne, so it might just be another douchey guy who thinks he's, like, super totally hot!!1!

TLDR. if you are not happy now- why do you think you can changer her or the relationship. end it before people get overly attached and committed to the relationship ( or settle) and find someone new. its easier to end things now, than have to deal with that drama later ( when all you are doing is just going to make it worse by stringing it along).

Doesn't look good with makeup and you're still with her? Mate, find a woman that looks good with and without it. You may go broke from caving in all the time and buying her jewelry and she may not be able to afford the stuff that "makes her pretty".

But if you're only looking at her in the dark, then...go ahead and ignore TLS

If you were in a good relationship, it would not be "work"

This has to be the dumbest thread ever... Is the OP serious? I particularly loved the makeup reason... I'm going to ask my boyfriend how he feels about me without makeup.

Only read the OP, so sorry if anyone already said this, and Im sure they have because its the obvious answer, but you should dump her because of points 2-4.

OP: I will not address how YOU feel. I think enough people have done that, in spades. Whether shallow, immature, or whatever, they are your feelings that only you can resolve. Best I can do is give you a similar scenario and its consequences just as a cautionary tale.

I have been with my beloved for 18 years now. The hardest time in our relationship was when I was in vet school - I left and went across half our state while he stayed in our hometown getting his UG. On ICU rotations, I worked from 5 am to 10 pm or 12 pm to 3 am alternating shifts. When I got home, I didn't even want to talk on the phone to him. I just wanted to sit and NOT think for a while. This made him feel unloved and neglected, and if he wasn't more mature it would have ended our relationship. I assume the hours will be similar, if not worse, in LS. At least you won't have to sleep in a barn on a bale of hay . . .

Back to my point which is that it sounds like she is even more needy than my husband was at that time. IMHO, I don't think your relationship can survive the stress LS will cause to HER.

I'm not trashing what you have said about her because the internet is like riding in a car or being inebriated . . . people will say things they normally wouldn't dare, since they are cloaked with anonymity or EtOH. I think the internet causes severe diarrhea of the mouth that wouldn't normally happen. Consider what you have read carefully, and if you truly FEEL what you are saying, you know what to do.

The moment she starts to stop caring herself (in other words, respect herself) is when the spark is gone.

How is this the advice you give after that story. Also, it is illegal to work in health care for more than 16 hours.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
