I got issued an email address at a LS before I was officially accepted.
I suppose they would not go through the hassle of creating a new email user id unless you've been accepted? I mean, if you've been denied, then why bother giving you an email address.

Seriously, that would be horrible. I know I would be pissed.robinhoodOO wrote:That was my initial thought, but I would think I would've heard back by now. I can't imagine how pissed most applicants would be to see the email address and weeks later receive a rejection letter...dougroberts wrote:I got issued an email address at a LS before I was officially accepted.

Oh, here you go, an official email address from Columbia--or wherever! No wait, we'll be taking that back just in case someone more suitable with a very similar name comes along! Best of luck!
What are you planning on doing though?

Re: Status Update: Issued email address, but no response
This is different but sort of a similar vein.
I applied to U of Oregon, I was an undergrad there so I have a "duckweb" account, a student email and an active student ID.
I logged in and all of a sudden, I had all of this 'new law student' stuff showing in my duckweb account (like, registration info, class schedules, etc, all kinds of stuff that was never there before.) Things that aren't publicly accessible. I thought to myself, I must have been accepted. But no email, no snail mail.
I waited. And waited. Status checker hadn't changed...waited. Waited. It was over a MONTH before I got the acceptance letter in the mail. I have NO idea why it took so long when they'd obviously made their decision quite awhile before. Weird.

Applied to USF as well. Got the USF email address added to my 2nd email when i got waitlisted. So it doesn't mean much I guess.

I'm in the same situation-- just received a usfca e-mail address this morning. It's driving me crazy because I don't know what it means I don't want to get my hopes up thinking I'm going to be accepted only to receive a rejection letter. BAH!
