Alum Advantage

I've tried searching for this answer but haven't been able to find a precise answer. Does being an alum of an institution give an applicant any advantage when applying to its law school. Obviously, it allows you to tailor your PS and flatter the adcom with specific reasons why you loved your time there, but does this bear out in actual decisions.

Prevailing TLS theory is that the advantage, beyond what you mention about being able to talk intelligently about the school because you know more about it than can be found in the viewbook, is negligible. If the UG institution in question is very prestigous (MIT, Ivy, etc.), there may be a slight bump for that.
Exception: You're a legacy with five generations of alums in the family and a building named after your great-great-grandfather. Then of course the law school will want to keep you there.
