Yale supplement question

What's the deal with the dean's evaluation? I just discovered it. Does it matter that the deans of students don't actually know me? I'm guessing this is just another piece of boilerplate, yeah?

Dean of students knows almost no one at pretty much every school. Dean's cert is just to make sure you haven't done anything that'll end up coming back to embarrass you or Yale.
