I mean the best school I could have gotten a full ride to. If that means a TTT, then a TTT it is.allah6969 wrote:And by TTT do you mean not T14 or do you seriously mean TTT?johnnyutah wrote:I'm above median at t-14, but I regret not taking a full ride at a TTT in order to minimize my debt load.

I should have gone to business school. Yes, I regret it. Although I suppose everything worked out well, in the end.

No, but only because OCI worked out for me. I regret not partying harder before law school because I didn't realize how big of a time drain it really is. I also thought that 1L year would be the worst and then it'd just be smooth coasting, but 2L really sucks too. Wish I would have mentally prepared myself better for how damn long 3 years can be.

So basically, the theme of this thread is that no one will come out and say that law school was a flat out mistake, although there are a number of people who regret choosing love (higher ranked school) over money (scholarship). Very good to know.
Oh, and there is still plenty of speculation that everyone else less fortunate probably regrets it.

Maybe, but I read this and think that all of the negativity is overblown. I view the results of this thread as optimistic.mikeman wrote:Way too many depressing threads on TLS..

3 of the posters in this thread absolutely dominated 1L. You're getting a pretty unrepresentitive sample so far

I'm a 2008 TTT grad. I have no regrets about going to law school at all. An expensive undergrad... Now that was just dumb.. But still, all in all, no regrets.

If anything I regret taking on undergrad debt which basically put me in a corner with law school. If undergrad debt was not in the picture I would have taken a TTT in a market I liked and a near fullride over my current T2 with barely any $.

I always though it was strange that people cared about going to a top undergrad. I went to an in-state undergrad that gave me money. I graduated debt free and although my school is a decent regional school, it was super, super easy, which set me up for an awesome GPA and good grad school prospects.BarbellDreams wrote:If anything I regret taking on undergrad debt which basically put me in a corner with law school. As a 0L, I hope I do not come to regret law school by throwing myself into (very excessive) debt.

Better out of school job prospects, most people aren't sure about grad school.DeeCee wrote: I always though it was strange that people cared about going to a top undergrad.

Depending on the field and the cost the difference in job prospect can either be very much worth it or a total waste of money.Patriot1208 wrote:Better out of school job prospects, most people aren't sure about grad school.DeeCee wrote: I always though it was strange that people cared about going to a top undergrad.

This is true. I'm currently in an MA program, and I knew I always wanted to head into that direction. However, now my MA will probably be useless once I go to LS.Patriot1208 wrote:Better out of school job prospects, most people aren't sure about grad school.DeeCee wrote: I always though it was strange that people cared about going to a top undergrad.

Sure, but there aren't a lot of schools where you can be a medieval studies major and still get a 75k business job through on campus recruiting. Most people aren't sure what they want to do so going to a great school helps you hedge your bets.Desert Fox wrote:Depending on the field and the cost the difference in job prospect can either be very much worth it or a total waste of money.Patriot1208 wrote:Better out of school job prospects, most people aren't sure about grad school.DeeCee wrote: I always though it was strange that people cared about going to a top undergrad.

Re: Do You Honestly, Truly, Regret Law School?
Definitely have to agree with the statement in bold. If it wasn't for the fact that I met my fiancé in undergrad, I would regret going to a private university whose prestige will mean jackshit once I enroll in LS.reasonable_man wrote:I'm a 2008 TTT grad.
