Top Law Schools

This might be the stupidest thing I have ever read on TLS. Quite the feat, OP. A few points:
(1) How would you plan to use your recorded video? Agonize over your answers for weeks until you get your grades back?
(2) What good would it do you to know what you wrote? It's not like you could show it to a prof and get your grades changed, b/c (a) profs don't change grades, and (b) you wouldn't be able to reveal your recording device to the prof even if he/she were inclined to care what you think of your answer;
(3) Would you actually go back and fully transcribe your recordings into a Word document? If so, your time mgmt. skills could use some work before you start LS; and
(4) Most schools give you your exams back after they're graded (the profs print 'em out to read them and sometimes even mark them up).

You might have an authority problem, your lack of common sense is a more pressing one. Work on that one first.

Yeah, I hear you. While I agree with everyone else that this would be a terrible idea where the best possible outcome is that you never get caught and the worst is career suicide, I can understand the the impetus behind this desire quite well. I have this same stupid rebellious side, too. I got kicked out of LACMA and told to stop taking pictures in The Getty Villa. Stupid security guards!!!! Total bull!

Also, in undergrad, I stuck some gum on a desk and got yelled at! For freaking gum. Unreal.

I'm not going to commit career suicide just yet. If I'm ever tempted, I'll seek perspective from any readily available source(s).

There's a million easier ways to record the contents of your screen than attaching a camera to your baseball cap.

1st one: Ok, that rule is there for a reason. You WERE hurting it. Oils from hands breaks down paper and makes drawings/paintings last a lot shorter, or can tarnish statutes. If it is in a museum, we are trying to keep it around for hundreds of years if possible. Don't do that.
2nd one: Were you using a flash? Pretty sure it is just no FLASH photography. Again, for a very good reason, flashes disturb the birds. If you were not, then I am totally with you on this one.
3rd one: Yah, that just looks like you are cheating. No sympathy from me here.

Overall, you do kinda sound like a punk who needs discipline. Actual arbitrary, meaningless, stupid rules? Ok, fight the power. But rules with good reasons (like these)? All it does is make you come across as a... well, a brat. Most people will not tell you this to your face, but they are likely thinking it. Even if otherwise they really like you. One of my very good friends is exactly like you. I still think she is an incredibly fun, upbeat, perky person. But I also know she is a bit of a brat who needs to grow up a little.

Secondly, if you go to a museum and don't follow the rules, they'll kick you out. I got in trouble at the Getty Center for crossing the line into an off limits area to make out with a girl.

Don't people type out their exams? Then if its a software that you are doing it through can't you just intermittently take screen shots? Or print screen and then save? Would make more sense than the round about way you are going...

The thing with the exam software is that it renders your computer's other functions inaccessible. I'm assuming, all you are supposed to do during the exam is answer the questions and upload them. I've tried familiarizing myself with our exam software, but I am not able to register just yet.

Might still be a honor code violation, I still wouldn't try it. Especially since all you have to do is go ask for a copy.

Before you go to the local spy store and load up on hidden camera and covert microphones, why not spend a little less money go to your local law school book store and buy some Emanuel or Nutshell guides... read them and relax. You'll quickly find that getting through law school is not that difficult, even making good grades is easy if you apply your energy in the right direction... and that isn't trying to record things said in class. Frankly I got my best grades in classes where I never showed up and just read the study guides, what the professors said was usually not what they were looking for on the exams (of course that will change with each class so you have to network with other students to find out what professors are like).

As you seem to be one who likes to stick it to the man, I have a bit of respect for that... but I see no benefit in anything you listed... I'm also baffled at your wanting to copy what you type on your laptop, maybe I'm crazy but every word processor I've ever used and every laptop I've ever used had a hard drive I could save my file to so I would already have a record of what I typed.

Well, I was referring to copying things we type while running the exam software. Other times, I know laptops have a hard drive.

Well, I was referring to copying things we type while running the exam software. Other times, I know laptops have a hard drive.

If you are going to have to use some special software that wont allow you to save the exam to your hard drive just invest $20 dollars in some key logger software and it will copy every key stroke you make... in don't remember any exams using that type of software, in fact I remember most exams were not even given in a specific room, most were handed to you and you would go to a computer lab, your room, or anywhere you wanted to do them.
