Top Law Schools

For some of us, law school was always the plan. We were told we loved to argue even as a kid, belonged in a courtroom, etc. We were going to become lawyers - no matter what.

But for the majority of us, we wanted to be authors, musicians, doctors, athletes, astronauts, etc. You know, something actually cool. But something happened along the way, and for some reason here we are applying to law school/in law school/working in the legal profession.

SO, here is an ode to our childhood dreams! Post what you wanted to do before you decided to take the plunge. Pictures are even better.

I'll start...

Own a restaurant......professional hockey player.....phd candidate in political science (my gpa is way too low and i get crushed by stats)

travel journalist, philanderer, anthony bourdain's job, beachside bar owner


hopefully these things will still be possible

Probably either own a small business (maybe a bakery), be a school teacher, or be an author.

As far as why I'm in law school: no idea--never really committed to any other avenue, did well on LSAT, and now I'm here.

I'm sort of a jack of all trades, so IP law should be a good career for me. That being said, my ideal lifestyle would be that of a novelist. Fortunately it's a pipe dream that I can pursue as a hobby (i.e. without the risk of being a starving author).

I don't look at being a lawyer/going to law school as an alternative to what I want to do, but as a path to get there. Just sayin. Gotta have money to make money.

Original plan was to be a scientist when I was a kid. My mom said I always wanted to be a paleontologist after seeing Jurassic Park.
Once I got into middle school, I had no idea.
In high school, law school was my plan.
In college, I decided to go business, and thought I would graduate, get a job, then go back for an MBA.
Due to not finding a job, I decided to go with the law school plan. It isn't settling at all in my mind; actually, I consider it a blessing in disguise.
I have always thought it would be cool to be a Senator, but I threw that idea out long ago.

I wanted to be a model or a stewardess. Both of which my mom told me I was too short for. So I'm going to law school instead.

i progressed from pro baseball player, to sports journalist (hence the english writing degree), to working for espn. hopefully law will give me the financial security to eventually have the job ive wanted throughout my life - own a small surf shop in socal.....

he sucks dude. Now if you said Tom Dwan, Patrik Antonious or Ivey it would have been a different story.
