ANY ADVANTAGE TO LISTING OTHER LAW SCHOOLS ON APPLICATION?
I'm not sure if anyone has ever asked this question or given any thought to it, but I came across it today and thought I should ask. I was filling it out my application for University of Alabama today, and another school that I can't think of right now, and came across the question about what other law schools I was applying to. It's an optional question but I would like to know if there's any advantage to me asnwering this question, and listing the names of the other 10 schools I'm applying to. If anyone knows, please kindly respond. Thanks.

I listed a few of my other top choices on WUSTL's app. I didn't see any reason to be coy; if WUSTL offers me a lot of money, they'll almost certainly be my top school regardless of other (reasonable/foreseeable) acceptances. I don't have a problem with them knowing that, as it's a business and it's all about how offers match up. Let 'em know they've got a little bit of competition, there's a reason ED applicants rarely get sizable scholarships (aside from using it to sneak in with low numbers).

I think WUSTL was the other school I was trying to remember. So to list their peer schools in the case of Alabama, I would list UGA, UNC.....since they are all closely ranked.

So, I'm guessing listing peer schools on an application can only help my cause, not hurt it.

I think Notre Dame actually asked you to submit and addendum if there were more than fit in the spaces provided (if it wasn't ND it was WUSTL or a T-30 school in that region. I listed all 16. I wanted them to know, if they want me--they can pay for me.
