How are you not banned Vanwinkle? I read one of your posts in an "older student Law school" thread where you were trying to play nice. Let me remind you that you negatively trolled me in a previous thread for being 30. You're quite a two-faced internet phony, aren't ya?vanwinkle wrote:How are you not banned yet?reasonabledoubt wrote:Oh, well, don't worry about that because I'm better than you. Countertrolling only harms trolls, though. I practice a very strict policy of only offending offensive people. It works pretty well so far in practice; the trolls get upset and no one else cares.reasonabledoubt wrote:How are you not banned Vanwinkle? You got it geek, I understand now, you're delusional... only a troll would arrange things in such a trollish way in their trollish mind. Good luck with your "countertrolling" then.vanwinkle wrote:Countertrolling only harms trolls, though. I practice a very strict policy of only offending offensive people. 1) scared about the job market
2) scared about being too young, inexperienced (i'll have been out of school for a year but maybe that's not enough?)
Really though, I'm pretty excited to be going, and think that it'll be a great experience. If the job market were better and I could find a job in my field then I'd consider working for another year, but as it is that's not the case. I'm pretty much set on going to UT and I think Austin will be a great place to be for three years.

Isn't it time for lights out at the home? You don't wanna get another demerit and be banned from next weekend's field trip to the casino.reasonabledoubt wrote:You got it geek, I understand now, you're delusional... only a troll would arrange things in such a trollish way in their trollish mind. In debt because you're unhappy, and unhappy because you're in debt. It's a vicious cycle.Gunz353 wrote:DEBT!!!! Ahhhhhh! And that I will have some sort of breakdown and end up in the bottom of my class thereby compiling the original fear of DEBT!

After having to deal with roaches before, I am terrified that there will be roaches in my apartment when I move to law school. Roaches mean that I cannot sleep. Not being able to sleep=bad grades. I wish there was a way to know ahead of time whether or not a place will have roaches/silverfish/scorpions/centipedes/major spider problems.

Re: Fears about Law School
Sometimes one of my kids has a bad night and keeps me up from 2am - 4am. I sit there that whole time worrying about what I will do if that happens when I am in law school and have class/an exam the next day.
Then I remind myself that exact thing happened the night before my LSAT retake and that I actually did very well so maybe I work better after a rough night with the kiddos.
Either way, the unpredictability of kids makes it difficult to have any sort of scheduled lifestyle and that scares me a bit.

interestingly enough the best way to get rid of roaches is to purposefully introduce silverfish. i agree with you 100% on all of it though, gross.eandy wrote:After having to deal with roaches before, I am terrified that there will be roaches in my apartment when I move to law school. Yes, that's Val. She is a Great Pyrenees. I think she was 8 weeks old when I took that picture. She is about 100 pounds bigger now, but just as cute!jelizabeth88 wrote:Is that your dog?eandy wrote:After having to deal with roaches before, I am terrified that there will be roaches in my apartment when I move to law school. Find a basketball watchin' male law student introvert. (except for that whole already having a gf thing)
Anyways:
1. Going to be one of the dumbest students there
2. Not fitting in (how many rap listening, videogame playing, basketballing law students are there?)
3. Already in a long-distance relationship with my gf for a long time, but I'm afraid law school stress will make me treat her like a dick. I hope this doesn't happen.
4. For some reason I have a fear that I'll get super drunk at a bar then take a bus home and get infinitely lost.

That you'll graduate in the top 25% at a T-14, but still be shut out of the job market!
job market for me = NALP 250 (generally speaking, anything will be viewed as failure)

re: #2--well, there's us (although I pretty much stick to Guitar Hero) and my dad was a basketball fool in law school (American) too. Actually he and his buddies roadtripped to regional sites (like, in one spot for round one, next night another site for round one, then back to site one for round two, back to site two for round two...they were hardcore) during LS, so if they did it, I can too. haha.

At the start of the semester, I feared that I wouldn't get any action at bar review ... nearly half-way through the second semester, this fear is starting to come true!

Re: Fears about Law School
not getting into any school. and then once I get in (crossing fingers) I'm sure I'll freak out that I've gotten in/workload that I'll have - it will be 5 years this year since I've graduated from college/worked in the real world. I'm afraid that my brain won't work, and that I won't be at the top of the class like I was during college. the debt I'll have after graduating. I've also been in a serious relationship with my bf for 4 years and I'm afraid that we won't see each other much with my law school demands and his PhD demands. ummm...the list could go on and on!!!
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
