ASP was so chill! Really fell in love with CLS.

No word on my end. I hope we hear back soon.

Current student question for you guys, what's the Richman Fellowship? I feel like there used to be a program by that name years ago but I didn't realize they'd brought it back, if it is the same thing.

It's a law and business leadership fellowship. You can't find anything about it online though. I guess it's like Fight Club.

Interesting, thanks. Is it for doing a joint JD/MBA? Also, is there a scholarship component?

The full name is the Richard Paul Richman Fellowship. It's not for JD/MBA. It provides financial assistance of at least $60,000. If you become a fellow, you also get to eat dinner once a year with other current and past fellows at one of the 'premiere' restaurants in NYC (I assume a place like Daniel, hopefully not Per Se).

Why won't Columbia love me? Do you think they're interviewing our childhood neighbors?

What's the typical turnaround time for financial aid info?
I submitted the requested paperwork three weeks ago (within 72 hours of being accepted.)

I think if you got it in by the March 1st deadline they usually will drop it in the mailbox around April 1st. You are pretty close to that, so you might get it end of next week, maybe the week after. They release all awards by snail mail unfortunately.

At least, that was the trend the last few years.

Ok so I could reasonably expect to get it in the next 14-ish days.

Good to know. Thank you.
Do you know whether they'll notify you even you don't get any financial aids?

I believe they do, the letter will just show all loans.

Anyone have thoughts on the amount of aid it would take for you to feel comfortable committing? Trying to make this decision for myself, and am curious to hear what others think.

It depends on what other offers you have, your financial situation, and how eager you wanna go to CLS.

CLS is my #1 choice. So I'm hoping for 45-60k to at least cover my rent.

Same. Would be nice if they could send an email saying the package is on its way. Or, I don't know, email it?

It doesn't make sense to me at all why places still mail things over emailing them. More bad things can happen to a physical piece of mail than an email (I get a couple of letters a month that never get to me because of the post office). It also takes more physical time/resources to mail a physical letter. I have no idea why someone would.

Is the general thought that one should wait to hear about your financial aid before submitting other scholarships from other schools that you're hoping them to match? Or would it be good to email them ASAP?

Wondering the same thing. I mean, based on what I've heard/seen, it's best to wait and see what their offer is before submitting offers from other schools, BUT they ARE kind of cutting it really close to enrollment deadlines for those other schools.

I spoke to the financial aid office last week and they said award letters would begin going out this week, and also that it was a good idea to email them other scholarship offers before those letters go out.
