I plan on living a bit farther and paying maybe $550 on rent, but am flexible up to $750 to live very close. Druid Hills seems pretty great, VH just seems a touch pricier from what I can tell.confused_0L wrote:What are everyone's thoughts on housing options and how much do you plan on spending for rent? What areas of town? Druid Hills? Virginia Highlands?
Also, is there an FB group for Class of 2020? Might need to start looking for a roommate.

I'm looking at a few houses, as well as a couple of apartments, all of which are accessible to the law school via shuttle or one of the MARTA buses. I'm hoping to spend no more than $800 on rent/utilities.confused_0L wrote:What are everyone's thoughts on housing options and how much do you plan on spending for rent? What areas of town? Just as an FYI Druid Hills is generally cheaper for newer&nicer places and is much closer to school/easier to get to grocery stores and fast food and stuff, but definitely feels more suburban while VA Highlands is more quirky/Atlanta-y and "closer to the action" but generally runs more expensive for less modern places with fewer amenities and traffic is terrible. Most people @ Emory live in the Druid Hills/Decatur area and just drive the extra five or ten minutes to get to the city stuff but I do know a few who are deeper in Vahi, although either they're living in super expensive studios or pretty outdated condos and have a private landlord rather than a management company with maintenance, etc.confused_0L wrote:What are everyone's thoughts on housing options and how much do you plan on spending for rent?
