I would imagine NYC would be different, but I've never been to a law school reception in NY.xn3345 wrote:Equally true for Paul, Weiss in NYC?gargleblaster wrote:xn3345 wrote:Dress code for the Admitted Students receptions at the fancy firms?
Depends on the firm/location.
In SF - the students that have showed up in suits were the exception.
Most of the school reps/older alumni were in suits.
Younger alumni were in business casual.
Just look nice.
July if not on campus. We're a major city, it'll be very easy to find something. Much earlier if you want something UChicago affiliated although I don't know when. That's a great question to ask an admissions person at ASW.poptart123 wrote:When do current students recommend beginning the hunt for housing?
Juicy info. Thank you!gypsyroselily wrote:Update on scholarship timeline: I attended the Feb. 24 Day in the Life Event. During a Q&A with the dean of financial aid, he said they're planning to get scholarship emails out at the end of this week or the beginning of next week.
I signed my lease in mid-June. That was much earlier than necessary. The exception is if you want to live in university housing (which you probably shouldn't), in which case you need to jump on it earlier.poptart123 wrote:When do current students recommend beginning the hunt for housing?
Do you think that's for everyone accepted so far or just the first wave?gypsyroselily wrote:Update on scholarship timeline: I attended the Feb. 24 Day in the Life Event. You know, I'm not sure, that wasn't addressed. For what it's worth, I was admitted 1/20.Anon.y.mousse. wrote:Do you think that's for everyone accepted so far or just the first wave?gypsyroselily wrote:Update on scholarship timeline: I attended the Feb. 24 Day in the Life Event. Makes sense! I was in the 2/13 wave. I guess I'll just be pleasantly surprised if it comes this week/next (whenever yours is sent) but expect a little bit later than that. Thank you for responding!gypsyroselily wrote:You know, I'm not sure, that wasn't addressed. For what it's worth, I was admitted 1/20.

Please make it tomorrow, Chicago. Don't make me wait anymore days.gypsyroselily wrote:Update on scholarship timeline: I attended the Feb. 24 Day in the Life Event. Seriously. I'm dyin' here. Chicago and Berkeley are the only schools I need to hear about scholarships from. Chicago is far and away my first choice, and I'm eager to get the ball rolling.Rich Uncle Skeleton wrote:Please make it tomorrow, Chicago. "Late this week to early next week" has turned into "Late next week at the earliest." And Chi's "early March" timeline is turning into "mid-March."TudoBem wrote:Please make it today Chicagogypsyroselily wrote:Update on scholarship timeline: I attended the Feb. 24 Day in the Life Event. I think they are just trying to find all of the money that they need to offer usAnon.y.mousse. wrote:TudoBem wrote:Please make it today Chicagogypsyroselily wrote:Update on scholarship timeline: I attended the Feb. 24 Day in the Life Event. I want fin aid info, but also am kind of scared to get it because Chicago is my first choice and I'll be crushed if they offer me something where it's not a possibility anymore.
