Georgetown Law Class of 2019 Forum

(housing, friendships, future exams, all things 2019)

Where did you end up?

Georgetown. DC is the center of everything in the country that matters, so of course I'm going to the best school in DC. Also, have you SEEN the student rec center?!

UT. Texas is the center of everything in the country that matters, so of course I'm going to the best school in Texas.

George Washington. Georgetown is great, but G-Dub is in Foggy Bottom and I'd like to eat at ShopHouse as often as humanly possible.

Vanderbilt. Georgetown is too big, and I need to live in a city with actual barbecue.

UCLA. I don't understand why people would voluntarily go to law school somewhere that has winter.

Cornell. I want all of the prestige of Georgetown, but without all of that pesky cosmopolitan culture.
2

Northwestern. I needed a school that was more business-minded, and also one that has buildings that don't remind me of the USSR.

UVA. DC is great and all, but why live in DC when I can pay cost of living in Charlottesville for three years?

Duke. Mike Krzyzewski. Jay Bilas. Sam Seaborn. Need I say more?

Hi all! Quick question about section schedules - I'm in section 5, and I noticed that there are different sections/professors listed for Con. Law and Legal Practice for the fall (i.e. §§§ 51, 52 and 53 for Con. Law and §§§§ 50, 51, 52 and 53 for Legal Practice). Do we know which section of the specific courses we are in yet?

Because GULC realizes you might actually brief/read every case during the fall. Thus, they give you fewer classes until you realize Quimbee/Wikipedia/Oyez/Chemerinsky are all you need.

How terrible this is will depend on whether they give you your Friday off in the fall or the spring. Also I think some sections got a 14/16 split which is nice. Try not to be consumed by jealousy.

I thought you could find them through the bookstore if you know your section?

Hey can you guys share what it says under "School Code" on your student loan disclosure statements? GULC's code is different from the one that's showing up on my disclosure statement (G01445) and I'm concerned that fedgov thinks I'm an undergrad.

Probably not doing a service project but I signed up for the Mall Jog with Dean Treanor. I hope I'll have time to go home and shower after or I will seriously regret that decision. What did you go with?
Not sure what Faculty Tour I'll do, but I'm doing the Armed Forces service project!

So is there any expectation of how we should be dressing for Orientation in 90 degree DC weather?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
