Re: You Can't Spell Lunatic Without 1L
After hours of studying for the MC section of our LRW exam, the hierarchy of Bluebooking goes something like this:
Amoeba < Minnietron < Chimpanzee < Median 1L < LR Editor < WLRK Associate < SCOTUS Clerk
Gray, what did you say was below F-...

Haha! Well, that doesn't seem like a good option. Guess I will shoot for F-.Gray wrote:DROPPING THE FUCK OUTMinnietron wrote:After hours of studying for the MC section of our LRW exam, the hierarchy of Bluebooking goes something like this:

sorry I'm over caffeinated atm
Right there with you on caffeine level. Fortunately, there is no one here to see my intense concentration and jerky motions.
Apparently someone in our section recently dropped out.

Interesting. Tell me more. I am not aware of anyone dropping out in our section, but we did have that guy who killed himself.Minnietron wrote:Apparently someone in our section recently dropped out.

Yeah, sad story. Or, well, not much of a story really, since this happened like 6 weeks into the semester, and nobody really knew him well.hairbear7 wrote:wat.Hand wrote: but we did have that guy who killed himself.

Neither LRW nor Bluebook belong anywhere near the word fun.Hand wrote:you must mean "really fun"Wahrheit wrote:that seems really weirdGray wrote:to force us to learn how to bluebookWahrheit wrote:why do you have an exam for lrw

It also tests our understanding of: Hierarchy of Authority, LW Conventions, editing for conciseness, general punctuation/grammar...Wahrheit wrote:that seems really weirdGray wrote:to force us to learn how to bluebookWahrheit wrote:why do you have an exam for lrw
Though, it is a nice dip into the kiddy pool of exams before heading to New Smyrna Beach, Fla.
It is terrible. And it should feel terrible for being terrible!Big Red wrote:omg that sounds so, so terribleMinnietron wrote:LRW exam

The exam also tests our knowledge of where commas go, and I'm embarrassingly ignorant of whatever the fucking rules are for that. Re: You Can't Spell Lunatic Without 1L
Finally finished a good looking draft of my open note memo, with about 100 words left in the word count limit.
Still feel completely awful, depressed, and overwhelmed.
LRW Bluebooking exams are definitely a real thing, and also really shitty. I probably shouldn't complain since I did well, but it still took me a stupid number of hours to complete. Once I saw what I missed, I felt really stupid. It felt even worse when I found out that I missed getting an A- by half a point.

Re: You Can't Spell Lunatic Without 1L
We had several assignments including a MC research exam as a midterm. To prep us for that exam, we had what are called wonder-ponders, a way for us to learn how to use the resources here. Two sets of specific questions in packets we had go through the various sources of info in the library to answer. Questions like where to find a specific type of case or research question were then asked on the exam. Then we had a closed memo, an open memo, and an email memo which is related to the open memo. The open memo is what we're all supposed to turn in tomorrow. Next semester we do pleadings and stuff.Wahrheit wrote:why do you have an exam for lrw
