As for the current poll, I have started for all my classes but they currently consist of week 1 only. And I'm probably gonna redo them cause I didn't know what to put in an outline in week1.

As I'm building my contracts outline, I'm realizing that it's turning into a condensed version of my class notes, which is completely useless for exams. I need to build flow charts and am feeling pretty overwhelmed right now.

Yeah, the two spaces after the period is just an old school thing. It was still big back in the 80s when I was in high school, but it seemed to mostly go away in the 90s.

As with most LRW stuff, what you are being told in school likely has little bearing on reality for any particular work place, instead it is a way for people who have survived the experience of LRW to haze those who have not yet experienced it.

I made an outline for my contracts midterm which was just rules. There'd be the rule from the principle cases, with caveats to the rules/modifications from the note cases. It was a closed book exam. It was quite helpful in my opinion. Top 25% grade, and it wasn't higher only because I wasn't great at taking the exam (missed an issue, missed some analysis points). A better outline wouldn't have helped at all.

One thing to add that isn't pure BLL is when your professor criticizes a holding, and gives a reasoning for why the court should have held another way. Definitely internalize this reasoning, because that is lots of counterargument/analysis points, which is money money money.

Yeah flow chart + rules would be the way to go imo. Literally 0 facts. I think if it's open book you can have a separate argument outline, but idk.

i started outline around the 3rd week. i've got mega anxiety so i carry around a folder with my outlines and try to review and memorize them whenever i have free time. i've done a fair amount of hypos and have identified that my biggest problem area isn't arguing both sides, but actually knowing the BLL. when i know the BLL i can kick ass, but i suck at memorizing the BLL.

anyone else suck at actually memorizing the BLL? they told us the BLL was easy but shit, it's more work than i expected.

having taken a midterm I feel like the points that end up making the difference aren't really things that are going to come out of a really detailed outline b/c at least for me the stuff I ended up missing ended up being fairly obvious and stuff I just kind of overlooked. I feel like having like my entire class notes would have just made it harder in a way

I'm probably going to spend a lot more of my time on hypos and practice exams, and see if I can't find some nice outline skeletons from people who've had my profs
