Mixed feelings about my semester. I know this group is a self-selecting sample but I appear to have places right at median at my school (maybe a little lower). But my distribution is two above average grades, one horrific grade I'm embarrassed about and a pass.

So here's to 2nd semester, even though we may be afraid to actually admit it I know I'm not the only on here not getting straight A-'s at my school the bottom 80% aren't.

Eh 5 classes last semester, a 2hr class this Jan, 6 classes this spring, and 6-8 hour internship in the summer. I'll have 42 hrs before 2L.

Kinda weird reading some of these posts. How about just letting other people feel however they want about their grades, keeping in mind that they have different goals/ambitions/expectations than you

Also curve matters. At WUSTTTL, the median is set to 3.55, and a 3.58 is the lowest A-. At other schools, an A- is like 80th percentile. Here, it may be 55th percentile. (Our grades have ranges, so anything between a 3.58 and 3.7 is an A-.)

Wustl's A+ grading system disproportionately rewards the few people who get top exam grades, even though those exams may be only marginally better than A exams (or even not better at all who knows). It does so at the cost of everybody else as well. Kinda shitty.

Volunteered at a DA's office for a week over winter break, and my supervisor told me he also went to UVA and got a C- in torts. I'm sensing some foreshadowing here.

We're supposed to have read an entire book for a "Negotiations" course that lasts a week before classes start. Just fucking LOL. I'm on page 15 right now.

I hate schools that give A+'s

I transferred to a school with A+s. Never got one, though I got painfully close in one class (96.4 missed it; friend with 96.6 got it). Prior to transferring I booked one class at a school that (1) did not give A+ and (2) had done away with its book awards.

Nah it's just a program at UVA where slackers can fulfill all the pro bono hours required to get summer funding in one week instead of working on stuff all year
