Not coming here, but just wanted to say the OP is pretty awesome. Tons of useful info, I wish more school threads were like that.

Also, if you're an admitted student and you want your name listed in the OP in jersey format, let me know.

Cheers

With a little help, I have assembled a few 2L and 3L Trojans who have all earned either stellar grades (above 4.0) in 1L courses or landed offers at top firms during the summer. My hope is that you will contact them and get insights into earning top grades in your first year from people that have actually done it recently. Once you start 1L finding people that have placed in the top percent of the class can be like searching for a needle in the hay stack. In my experience networking with upperclassmen (and women) gives you an advantage as well as access to their materials (if you should share the same professors) if you cultivate a strong relationship. If you are interested just shoot me a PM and I'll be sure you get the email with contact info and other details.

Is anyone planning on living in the Terrace apartments? :) Hoping to find someone to room with! (The random assignments kind of make me nervous...)

The word "lottery" is deceiving. I'd say there's a 99.9% chance you'll get one if you want one.
