Improvement over last year but still too many people graduating. 2018 class will have 10,000 fewer people flooding the market.

2014 class had 48,000 enter law school.

2018 will have about 36,000.

UCLA obviously gives you more leverage than Vandy since UCLA is in the same market. GL.

That's basically the argument I used, COA of UCLA v. USC, and i got them to bump it a tiny bit (not anything super significant but UCLA was offering me less money by far) so there's a shot it may work for you too.

It is my opinion that your likelihood of getting an increase at USC this cycle will be determined almost entirely by the position of your LSAT score relative to their median.

From my observations they over-offered reverse splitters originally and have been trying to correct this by giving large increases to splitters and shooting down reverse splitter requests.

Total speculation though and I know it doesn't answer your question directly, but hopefully it gives some insight.

To answer your question more directly, I don't think it matters what your leverage is as long as you have it and make a compelling argument for why it is a strong option for you. If they shot down a request based on one competing offer, I don't think it's likely they will respond positively with a different offer, unless your original competing offer just wasn't competitive or you didn't make it seem competitive (which I assume isn't the case).

Aren't you well above the medians or even the 75th?? I think if you make a really compelling argument I don't see how they turn you down if you really want to attend USC. They may think with your stats you're just playing them to get bigger offer elsewhere or something.

Ugh, I know. So apparently I should have applied to T14s.

I'm going to check if they are still taking applications.

Try this strategy. Call the AO and tell them the following.

"I'm above the 75th. Give my a full ride and I will withdraw from everywhere immediately and sent my deposit in right away."
I bet this will work.

I think it's safe to say some of them failed the bar exam but USC just hired the unemployed to rig the US news ranking like other schools.

^^ I want to know
1. the bar passage rate for these folks
2. whether they are below the median in grades.

I'll try to ask someone at Law Day.

Yeah MEC is above the 75th on BOTH GPA and LSAT. He has a lot more leverage. Go for it MEC.

O shoot, I just noticed this.

Under school-funded positions,
Employed, bar passage required is 31/34. So they did pass the bar. But why can't they get a job, even shit law?

Anyone else notice something else from the employment summary that we missed?

I dont think the school cares if you passed the bar for any job they hire you. Maybe some.

They were under the bar passage required section, the other 3 were under the JD preferred section I think.
