disappointed with vanderbilts offer....especially considering that wustl gave a near full scholarship. Going to try and negotiate close to the deposit deadline.

Definitely hold out as long as you can then. Not everyone who gets offered law scholars at first will accept it.Cpage44 wrote:arklaw13 wrote:Did you apply for it?Cpage44 wrote:I am deciding between a full ride to Wash U and the $110,000 I got to Vandy. For those who received the Dean's Leadership Award for the extra $5K, was this on a separate piece of paper than your scholarship letter? I received a letter about the Leadership Award as well as a handout about it, but no other scholarship letter. The Leadership Award letter mentions another scholarship letter, so I'm hoping someone forgot to include it in the envelope? Or maybe Vandy just wanted to give me $5K.

Not extremely surprised with my offer but Vandy is my top choice and I can't justify going here when Wash U gave me a full ride plus a summer job, or U Texas COA will be probably 25% of what it would cost to go to Vandy. Really hope they will let up on their negotiation policy cause I'm heart broke.

My scholarship letter arrived last week and the letter explaining the Dean's Leadership Award came separately this week.Dipper wrote:For those who received the Dean's Leadership Award for the extra $5K, was this on a separate piece of paper than your scholarship letter? Re: Vanderbilt Class of 2018
does anybody have any idea why Vandy fell from 16 to 17 this year? Yes it's only 1 spot, but only 2 other schools in the T20 (Georgetown & Michigan) dropped this year. Do you think Vandy's employment outcomes have dropped, or have its medians dipped? or both?

Re: Vanderbilt Class of 2018
Forgot to submit my tax info before the Feb. 15 deadline...odds of still getting need-based aid? Worried I really messed up, especially since I got low-balled by scholarships. Vandy is my #1 and I need to find a way to make it work.
On a lighter note- I've lived in Nashville for the past 4 years, attending undergrad here. Let me know if you have any Nashville-related questions.

People rise, people drop. Maybe Vandy spent less money on its library this past year. Who knows. Only thing you should be looking at is employment numbers vs cost-of-attendance.supersplittysplitter wrote:does anybody have any idea why Vandy fell from 16 to 17 this year? You can look at both of those metrics if you want. They base the rankings from data from the previous year.supersplittysplitter wrote:does anybody have any idea why Vandy fell from 16 to 17 this year? Thanks! Maybe the my scholarship envelope will come later, then. That's a bit awkward. This is why you should email, Vandy.c28 wrote:My scholarship letter arrived last week and the letter explaining the Dean's Leadership Award came separately this week.Dipper wrote:For those who received the Dean's Leadership Award for the extra $5K, was this on a separate piece of paper than your scholarship letter? Re: Vanderbilt Class of 2018
I didn't see what your admit date was, but I got my big Fedex package that didn't include any scholarship info first. A few weeks later (last Friday to be exact), I got a letter talking about my scholarship offer including the 5k award. Then yesterday, I got another letter that just mentioned the 5k award and didn't talk about my scholarship offer at all.

Same here. Got the dean's leadership award letter yesterday with no other scholarship info, but I got my actual scholarship offer today, so give it a little time I guessDipper wrote:Thanks! Are there any reviews of ASW yet? I'm planning on going to the April one, so I'd just like to get a feel for what was good/bad and if it's worth it to go! Keep us all updated!

Re: Vanderbilt Class of 2018
Invitations for Law Scholars awards went out about a month ago, and I don't think you can get the award without the interview. But I would definitely call and ask. The person who answers the phone at admissions will be able to answer and I doubt you would need to identify yourself, if that worries you.arklaw13 wrote:Definitely hold out as long as you can then.
