Are there any reviews of ASW yet? I'm planning on going to the April one, so I'd just like to get a feel for what was good/bad and if it's worth it to go! Keep us all updated!

If you're at all considering Vandy it's definitely worth it to go! Everyone was super nice and answered questions as thoroughly as they could (both students and professors- I soent 45 minutes talking to professor Devais and he answered all of my questions and even gave me his email). The mock class was also really interesting and gave me a good idea of what 1L will be like. If you can make the trip you should definitely do it!

Definitely hold out as long as you can then. Not everyone who gets offered law scholars at first will accept it.

Invitations for Law Scholars awards went out about a month ago, and I don't think you can get the award without the interview. But I would definitely call and ask. The person who answers the phone at admissions will be able to answer and I doubt you would need to identify yourself, if that worries you.

Interviews are happening today actually. My point is that not everyone who gets it at first will accept, and they will offer it again to someone else. I am someone who got it after someone else turned it down.

After going to ASD, I am suddenly not feeling great about attempting to negotiate. If I try and they say no, but I still end up attending, is there going to be some stigma attached to me by the admissions staff ?

Once you attend, you will never see the admissions people again. As soon as the school year starts, they are opening up applications for the next cycle. With few exceptions, they don't have anything to do with the rest of the law school.

So yes, attempt to negotiate. Won't affect you at all.

I'm gonna send an email out as close to the seat deposit as possible. Maybe them having a better idea of how the class is shaping up will do some benefit.

I did. I had a very small degree of success with no anticipation of further concessions. I'm a splitter, maybe I should have tried harder in UG, then admissions folk would love me. The admissions office is super responsive and pleasant though, it wasn't weird or contentious at all. I was fairly transparent and direct, no idea whether it helped or hurt.

I'd just write an email that clearly lays out your situation, then call admissions afterwards to discuss.

No, the scholarship letter comes separately. I had to wait for like six weeks. Since you are a bit later in the game though, I imagine that your's will come sooner.

That's crazy long. Deadlines are looming way too close. I might try a phone call next week to try to expedite the process.

Your offer will come in the mail with your acceptance package. I was admitted on March 10th and got both my acceptance packet and scholarship offer a couple of days later.

Depends on where you live, but generally you should have one. Public transit isn't very great/reliable. There are people who make it work, but I wouldn't do it unless you're very averse to driving for some reason.
