You're an inspiration, mwonka.

^^

Also, I have 57 days to go. FML.

I don't want to count yet. It would be a disappointment.

Booked the best suite -- idgaf about money anymore -- at an all-you-can-eat-and-drink-before-dying Cancun resort. 48 days. Not counting or anything.

Wanted to start on the Tim River but we're worried it won't be full enough to do, so I'm thinking Rain Lake, even though it's a little more popular and I want to avoid people

I'm pretty sure we used to start at canoe lake and end at rain lake but I don't remember because apparently it's been seven years since my last canoe trip ... and now I feel old, so thanks a lot.

Nice; I'm headed to Tulum in August. Still 57 days to go, as my last count was only 30 mins ago.

I have a week off in July (13-17) since its my bday week and I needed an excuse to kill some of my vacation time. You guys want to plan a trip/activities for me that week? You can all live vicariously through me and frankly, I have too much senioritis from my senioritis to plan it myself.

I live in Miami, if that matters.

hahah is that the awful 6K one? good work, much respect. I remember on one trip, halfway through the longest portage I walked into a branch that was sticking out and got stabbed right in the shin, but didn't really notice because there was a canoe on me and everything else hurt anyway. So much blood in my shoe - still have the scar. Was proud of that.

Have any of you done the all-inclusive-beach-resort thing before? What do you think? Normally I'm into the more "authentic traveling" experience or whatever, but some of those look damn nice and affordable. . .is that something a chick can do alone without being pathetic?

I landed a part-time research gig after the helljob ends, so the cash flow won't be ending all at once. Thinking it's a good excuse to book something.

I'm the same regarding travel. I usually favor the wanderlust-style vacations and generally don't like sitting still or large bodies of water. But this time around, before law school, I didn't want to be adventurous. Just want to chill and be perma-buzzeddrunk. I imagine you'd be perfectly fine rolling solo. Trip Advisor has a bunch of reviews by people that go alone and enjoy themselves.

Would not recommend approaching a moose.

I'm doing the somewhat more authentic variety of trip and not the all-inclusive resort type, but am aiming for the mildly-intoxicated-all-day-on-the-beach-with-some-maya-ruins-at-some-point -experience as well. Either way, I assume you'll be fine going by yourself, nothing pathetic about it if you ask me.

This is the most Canadian conversation I've ever had on TLS and I'm really happy about it.

Moose are surprisingly fast and very irritable and they WILL fuck you up.
