Nice! Sounds like you're doing this right. If you need help, say, perusing Airbnb, let us know. We're increasingly skilled at procrastination.

I need to order about 6 paychecks worth of car parts. Can you help with that?

Are they going to throw you a going away party?

Did you hint at any suggestions for a lunch or after work party?

(1) CONGRATS, curlietop!!

(2) Is anyone besides me trying to actively avoid having a work going-away party? A "Bye, Best of luck!" is enough of a send-off for me.

Me. Lunch with the 2 people I actually enjoy speaking to is all I want.

I'm with you, but I'm not counting on getting one. I'm mostly trying to figure out how to schedule my meeting with my boss to tell her I'm out. She doesn't have an office and we all sort of sit out in the open. I don't really get along with her so suddenly being like "hey do you want to grab coffee?" would be really odd.

I've got a week before I put in my 2 weeks.

I am fairly certain the most my coworkers would do is bring in some treats and then just keep them in the lounge area. Not a big, formal thing at all. And, really, any excuse to eat some free cake/pie/whatever is fine with me.

Yeah, we go overboard in my office (where EVERYONE is leaving). Personally, I prefer to duck out unnoticed, but if you're going to insist on cake it'd be rude of me not to eat it.

congrats, curlietop. also, whiskey, I recommend just calling in sick on your last day, and let the planned party suck on that.

My boss has been in a meeting since I got in this morning and didn't leave me anything to do. Makes Monday so much more bearable.

Just told my manager I'll be leaving in July. It was bittersweet because I'm excited to leave and glad to have it out in the open, but he is easily the best boss I've ever had (probably ever will have) and he was asking me if there was anyway I would change my mind/if I could work part time/ etc. At least I can stop hiding my plans now!
