I don't understand how people can afford to just not work for 3 months.

I'd imagine most people quitting right now are younger and living at home until August

My boss and coworkers got me a Mister Potato Head since that was our inside joke for me moving to Idaho.

I'm going to take pictures with it out in the wilderness. Haha

This is me...going to be living at home for a month with my mom, dad, and twin sister in a tiny 1 bed room apartment (shudder). But its free? 8)

Starting my lease in a new state a little over a month before school actually starts. Good idea? I need things to keep me busy so I don't get homesick.

57 Work days to go....Trying to budget and figure out if there is a slim chance I can cut those days down.

how bad would it be if I used up the remaining 4 sick days I have left for the year??

Worst case is you may have to pay for the days that you may not have yet earned -- that's how it works at my company anyway.

Chill coworker comes in an hour late and leaves early everyday since his last day in the day after labor day...Yet he doesn't think I should use all

You should ask HR "I have a dr's apt I'd like to schedule but since I'm not working a full year don't know if I get to take all 7 days. What's the policy?"

Nope, just worked in Big 4 consulting for a while which means I have decent savings and zero will to live.

(oh and also the street cred to freelance for a couple months, but whatever)

Also? I haven't had parents for a long time, and I completely fucking destroyed my life working 100+ hours a week for a firm that had no hesitation in shitting all over me the second I had to deal with anything in my life besides work. So it really pisses me off when people start making assumptions about why and how I'm taking time off before school.
