I'm trying to convince my mom to go on a cruise with me in June, using our credit card reward $$. So far it's a no go.

Re: Senioritis / Quitting-my-job-soon-iorits
I think two different issues are getting mixed up here. One is a question of when we are quitting our jobs, which some of us are doing later because of financial reasons. Some seem to have misconstrued this as motivation to perform well at said jobs, which is a completely different matter.
Senioritis doesn't mean you just stop going to school and get expelled before you graduate. You just slack where you can and show up when you have to until you can be done. And some of us are old, or poor, or whatever, and won't be done till later.
Sidenote - I just noticed that the post title is missing an 'i' between the last 't' and 's' in quitting-my-job-soon-ioritis.

yeah it's only motivation in the "hang in there" sense not in the "try your best" sense. the latter ain't happening no matter whatnosocat wrote:I think two different issues are getting mixed up here. Fair enough. It's just weird to see anything motivational in this thread besides people motivating me to procrastinate and awesome stories of slacking at work.

Thank you. That's the second (& third) time I've gotten that today. But I couldn't respond to the first one, since I'm at work and all. Aww, no, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to give you a hard time, I promise. Honestly I correct it in my head every time I read it, and then chuckle at my own mind, which is apparently pretty revolting.nosocat wrote:Thank you. I rolled my eyes at this thread a few months ago but now 5 of my coworkers have quit (out of maybe 20 that I actually work with), including my boss and his boss. I was planning on quitting in July because free money between then and now, but with this recent exodus this small company just got harder to work for.
I've got one foot out the door, man.

A few months ago? OP was like two weeks ago? Good luck though. Sounds like a tough spot.ub3r wrote:I rolled my eyes at this thread a few months ago but now 5 of my coworkers have quit (out of maybe 20 that I actually work with), including my boss and his boss. It really changes everything. I pretty much quit checking my status checkers (down to 1x per day unless lots of people are getting decisions at one of the schools I'm waiting on) because there's other content on the internet that actually changes sometimes.hereisonehand wrote:expand your range, I'm tagged in countless threads, time flieeessssssssub3r wrote:dang has it really only been two weeks

Re: Senioritis / Quitting-my-job-soon-iorits
Slightly diff situation - I'm moving to the UK for an MPP. But i've already gotten accepted, and accepted the offer.
I work 30 hour weeks - I do maybe 10 hours of legit work.
And i'm taking 18 creds - with two thesis's due in may.
I've barely started the research for the first, and am maybe halfway through the survey (i also have to do analysis of the survey and a 25 report on it).
The other 4 classes - nope, nope, nope, nope. IF I come to class, i'm halfway zoned out, either on imgur, reddit, tls, facebook, etc.
I've also spent more time at the bar and drinking this past semester, then my previous 7 combined.
Somehow, I'm rolling on straight A's, and got a promotion.... and an internship offer. (complete brag, idec lmao)
