Just received my award via email! I live in New York, but I called and requested a decision by April 10th.

Re: Columbia Class of 2018
So I called and told them that my first deposit deadline was Wednesday, they can't guarantee that I will get my award then but they will make a note of it.
FYI, It seems like they send a letter but if you call/email or in anyway express that you may need it soon, they will email it to you.

Does anyone know if appeals on money are possible/ever successful at Columbia?

Anyone found out how to get housing rate ranges for shares, studios, etc.? Is this information in the housing portal when you log in? (I haven't registered for it yet).

Re: Columbia Class of 2018
For anyone who hasn't received theirs yet, I called yesterday and they said that my letter was sent via postal mail but I told them I had deadlines on wednesday and thursday so they emailed a scanned copy. Also, assuming we all have the same 3 page letter, the $ amount right before the tuition grant is the scholarship award irrespective of federal loans right? Like even if we decide not to take out a federal loan that tuition grant is still ours?

Re: Columbia Class of 2018
Just did a little research into last year's thread--people did appeal, mixed bag of results. A few got increases, most seem to have been rejected. But it's possible!klab237 wrote:same question heretry.honesty wrote:Does anyone know if appeals on money are possible/ever successful at Columbia?

I know California is far away, but I'm gonna call them tomorrow and ask them to email me my aid result since I still haven't gotten anything.

Re: Columbia Class of 2018
got mine via email today after informing them of a 4/15 deadline... not sure why it took so long seeing as I didn't receive any aid. will likely be withdrawing.

Re: Columbia Class of 2018
Got my financial aid emailed to me today. Higher than NYU, but not sure if it's enough. My numbers don't qualify me for Butler levels of aid, realistically, but I'm going to try to negotiate nonetheless.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
