I mean, assuming the next option is Monday, can you really call February 23rd mid-February? What the hell NYU. If you miss a self-stated deadline at least acknowledge it.Mack.Hambleton wrote:some dayAuxilio wrote:My money is on first wave of financial aid stuff comes today.

NYU is the only school I applied to that has missed a date like that. Then again thinking about it they are the only school that has given me a date like that I am aware of (or it has not yet arrived yet for say Chicago).

Got my award - pretty happy with it! Surprised it came on a Sunday, as well.
They sent me an email saying they'd completed review of my financial aid app and a link to view the award after logging in.

Nah no named scholarship applications. And it's on the same site where you fill out the aid applications. They sent an e-mail letting me know, though.w0w wrote:Oh crazy. Did yall apply for any named schoollys? Also is it on the admitted student page or a separate one?

Didn't apply for anything named, and it's on a separate one. I had to log in using my birthday even though I already updated my password on the admitted students websitew0w wrote:Oh crazy. Did yall apply for any named schoollys? Also is it on the admitted student page or a separate one?

There was a separate form if you wanted merit-aid only that was on there, so you should be fine if you did the need access. Maybe that's why my offer came earlier, though.w0w wrote:Do you mean there is an institutional form to complete as well? I only did fafsaand need access. I'm so out of it.

Oh okay, yeah that makes sense. I thought you had to do need access no matter what but maybe that was just for named scholarships. I just kept seeing to submit it asap before interviews. Thanks for clearing that up.

Re: NYU c/o 2018
Did anyone get an email about their FA award today who had applied for a named scholarship (I applied for IILJ).
My "award" was being informed that there is no award, so… I'm assuming this just straight-up means there will be nothing coming.

I have heard that you are only considered for non named scholarships once the FA office is notified by the commitees that you wont be advancing as a finalist for the named scholarship. I could be wrong but that was my understanding so I would think if the FA office reviewed you for aid that's what it would mean.

+1. In one of the earlier emails to accepted students, the finaid office said your scholly offer may be delayed if you have a pending interview. Ergo, if you received your offer, it means you do not have a pending interview.w0w wrote:middlebear wrote:Did anyone get an email about their FA award today who had applied for a named scholarship (I applied for IILJ).

You are supposed to fill out an aid application? Does your scholarship award letter only come after you complete the aid application? It appears I dropped the ball on this one...LawBron James wrote:Nah no named scholarship applications. And it's on the same site where you fill out the aid applications. Got my award today as well. I applied for merit only, so I just filled out the internal form they sent. Very pleased with the offer; PM for details.
