Pleasantly surprised my appeal was granted as well - raised from $0 in response to my Darrow from Michigan.

Re: NYU c/o 2018
Just got my appeal decision. It was approved, but they didn't match my other award - not even close.
I submitted on 3/19.

Also got my appeal sort of accepted? Upped it a bit but not enough to sway me. Sorry NYU . I pretty much laid all my cards on the table so I probably don't have anything else to negotiate with...

So what's the word on multiple appeals? Seems like an official process (I havent appealed yet) so can you do it multiple times?

I honestly do not know, but I feel the message probably implies that it is a fairly final decision: here's the (I assume standard) text of denialbetty_bojangles wrote:So what's the word on multiple appeals? Seems like an official process (I havent appealed yet) so can you do it multiple times?
NYU LAW wrote: Thank you for your formal request asking for a re-evaluation of your financial aid award package. The Committee on Scholarship has reviewed your request for reconsideration and, unfortunately, the initial decision has not changed.
Please know that your application and supporting documents were reviewed carefully and in their entirety. There were definitely people in last years thread who had their initial appeal denied and ended up with something.
I think Brut might have been one of those?

Got my scholarship offer this morning. Lowest amount that I've received so far, so I decided to withdraw. Hopefully that goes back to some of you!

Successful appeal, submitted 3/16. It's not a lot, but it's up from $0.

Re: NYU c/o 2018
Checking in here for the first time. For financial aid, do you just submit Need Access and FAFSA, or is there an additional application page you need to fill out (like Columbia's questionnaire?)
Sorry if this has already been answered, I've been having trouble getting the NYU emails so I never got any instructions on how to apply for financial aid.
ETA: found the answer a couple of pages back. Sorry for the double post!

Re: NYU c/o 2018
From looking through that it seems most of them are in the vein of essentially nothing -> something on second appeal. Cannot see any examples of something significant -> bigger than that on second appeal.alloverthat wrote:There were definitely people in last years thread who had their initial appeal denied and ended up with something.

I think it will be a few more days until those come out. Did you get the "we are in the process of making selections" email?Skool wrote:Any RTK rejections?

Re: NYU c/o 2018
I know I'm a real dingus, but I've clicked around on the ASW fairly extensively and don't see any buttons about Financial Aid forms/merit aid, etc. I submitted my FAFSA and NeedAccess back when I filled them out (about one month ago), but it seems like there are other forms? Any guidance would be much appreciated.

Re: NYU c/o 2018
those are the only forms you have to fill out, the decision will provide a link to their financial aid site (if curious just google nyu law faaps)bretby wrote:I know I'm a real dingus, but I've clicked around on the ASW fairly extensively and don't see any buttons about Financial Aid forms/merit aid, etc. I submitted my FAFSA and NeedAccess back when I filled them out (about one month ago), but it seems like there are other forms? How long was the turn around on appeals? I got my initial offer yesterday and submitted an appeal. Just wondering how long I can expect to wait.

Re: NYU c/o 2018
hey all -- cross post with CLS c/o 2018 here -- but I am searching for money at one of them an need some negotiating advice. So I got my aid report from NYU and got nothing. Next highest ranked school I am into is Michigan. Is it at all feasible to negotiate with NYU using that Michigan money as leverage? My only other thought would be negotiate using HLS admit as leverage -- but this is a real long shot as I am waitlisted. Do I just consign myself to paying sticker? I imagine it can't hurt to try to negotiate right, even though I'm right around the median?

With my Yale Mart shot down, I'm officially going to NYU. Any other RTK acceptances? PM if you'd rather stay anonymous for now. I'd like to meet some of my fellow scholars

Re: NYU c/o 2018
Is it normal for a financial aid application to go from submitted --> under review --> final review all in the same day? I'm not complaining about the speed, because we're under a super time crunch this week, but it seems like it doesn't bode well for getting a substantial offer.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
