Yeah, there's no separate deadline for scholarships.

Except maybe for the Charles Evan Hughes one, but I haven't seen anyone post about a separate deadline for that.

ED applicant checking in here for the ASW of 3/20, so you can count on me to attend next fall.

While I have the spotlight, can anyone shed some light on Hughes Hall assignments? Have they given those out yet and am I guaranteed a spot there? Also, is the food going to be good?

I look forward to meeting everyone.

From what I've heard, they go out sometime in April but a spot is far from guaranteed. Apparently it can only house about 45 students, so if we assume a 160 student class size then barely 1/4 live there. That being said I think it's first come, first serve. As for the food...no idea :P

It's 200 students.

They have not made assignments yet. If you don't get one initially, you can stay on a waitlist and usually get a spot over the summer, but it's not guaranteed. Since you're ED, I assume you've already filled out the housing form and there's no reason to delay sending in your deposit, so you should get one.

What food are you referring to? There's one dining hall in the law school that I've never gone to. In Ithaca in general? It's ok.

Vandy is not a peer. But if the difference in $$$ is great enough, and you / your numbers are valuable enough, financial aid may increase your award. If that's your only offer, you might as well try.

Thank you. I meant it as two questions, but I'm assuming Michigan-Texas are peers?

Cornell doesn't negotiate with Texas either. I'm virtually certain that they have an informal "T14 only" policy (at least, they did w/ me last year), but it doesn't hurt to try. The worst they can do is say no and they won't remember by the time you matriculate ( you will probably never interact w/ the people you tried negotiating with, either way)

Does the financial aid form have to be mailed/faxed or can it be scanned and emailed? Welp recent admit who wrote down the deadline wrong.

I called and asked if I could email tax returns and the person very sternly told me no. Apparently it's not secure enough. She said to fax or mail.

Tax returns are different from financial aid form. I think it would be fine.

Ahh, good catch. No sensitive information on the finaid form, so it's not a security issue.

For future reference, to you and all who may read it, a lot of online websites offer free faxes up to a certain # of pages (either at one time, or per month, etc.) without needing to sign up. I just scanned mine and "faxed" it that way, and it was only minimally more work compared to sending it as an email attachment.

Just received the "we received your financial aid form and will forward it to the committee very soon" email. Is this a one - off or can we expect another round of schollys in a couple of weeks?

I got the "We received your financial aid form and will forward it to the committee very soon" email almost two weeks ago, but no award yet. Should I be concerned?
