Thru Hiking the Appalachian Trail. I leave March 1st.

Pros: Adventure of a lifetime, great real-world experience I can talk about, will get me in good shape, last chance before law school starts.

Cons: Coordinating loans while in the woods, applying for scholarships while in the woods, finding a Boston apartment while in the woods, etc...

Great idea! Last summer I only spent 3 days with a few friends hiking 60 miles up a Virginian section to Harper's Ferry, WV. Very jealous that you are doing the whole thing. Check out the camp log books when you make camp; there are some clever people out there. Also, beware the "Roller Coaster" section in VA...rough as hell.

There are places where you can get good cell reception (w/ Verizon as per my experience) so you can work on loan, scholarships, apartment hunting on your phone while maybe catching a rest.

I'm working full-time right now and gonna keep working thru the end of June and save as much as possible. Planning to travel a bit in July - either Mexico or hiking some of the John Muir trail. Then in August just chilling out! Fortunately am already living down the street from school so don't have to move or anything. Lookin forward to it.

Quit my jerb in December - have a family situation that needed some assistance, plus doing some volunteering back home. Hopefully a fabulous Balkan vacation this summer.

If you are planning to hit up the Balkans, send me a message! I've been living in Belgrade since August and probably will keep working here until July, before moving back to the US for school. I'll be working, but will hopefully have some time to travel to the lovely Adriatic Coast as well...

10-day backcountry ski/snowboard festival in Valdez, AK (April 3 – 12, 2015). I'll be splitboarding, snowmobiling, and helicoptering my stresses away!

After that, road tripping the US for a couple of months - I came out of undergrad in 2008 so I haven't had a summer off since. I'm leaving my job in a month to make this all happen . . . no way I'm passing up this last opportunity before retirement for taking months off and traveling!

I've decided to learn how to properly fry chicken before I leave my tiny southern town. My mom is a yank so fried chicken has never really been something she cooked, and we raised chickens, so we didn't eat much chicken anyway. Come to find out the best fried chicken in the county is by the mother of my best friend growing up.

Spending a month traveling around Western Europe, spending as much time with my family as I can, as it seems we may be on opposite coasts of the states, working as much as possible to save money, reading as much as possible the things and books that I enjoy reading, writing 500 words a day, surfing, working out, playing basketball. Enjoying the time I have to truly do whatever I want while I can

I wonder how many of us will be in Europe over the summer? I'll be leaving my job in May and will spend June and July in Europe as well! Thinking France/Italy/Croatia/Slovenia. Kind of random itinerary. 100% YOLO mentality.
