Are they high?

Not quite same situation, but still the same recommendations of loans versus contributions here as most others have. I suppose I could use a good laugh on this Monday morning? :? :? :?

I also got an email saying no financial aid, merit will be determined. How are we interpreting this for people still awaiting a decision on named scholarshipsy? My gut is saying it means I have been passed over, but since I was passed over the unnamed decision process is delayed.

It makes me feel better that everyone else that didn't get need-based aid got the same breakdown. I was worried that Penn somehow got the impression from my fafsa that I had $60K sitting around. Turns out they just don't like admitting that in the absence of aid many students will have to debt-finance most of the cost.

As a matter of course, did people submit their W2s/tax forms to Penn, or any information beyond what is in Need access?

The fact that there were only 2 JW alternates ITT and one dropped gives me hope, but ppl with better #s than me getting no $$ makes me nervous

The weird thing is people who weren't invited to apply getting JWs.

Hi I was an ED admit and I got around 70-80k in need aid. You guys think some merit aid or more need aid can be coming my way if I asked/wait more?

I'm sold on Penn btw (that's why the ED decision) but a couple thousand here and there wouldn't hurt.

Yeah from what I had read on TLS I was very unprepared for the very generous need based aid Penn is offering this year. I have seen a couple people with ~90k offered, and a few about 50k

oh and btw, I was thinking of living in Sansom place for next year and I thought of prolly getting a triple....is it weird if I got a meal plan too ala college freshman or are there dining halls dominated by grad students. Cooking's not really my strong suit and I dont wanna eat out often hahaha.

don't do it! there are roaches, and my friend's apartment flooded first semester. there is no dining hall...you'd be getting a meal plan and eating with undergrads. for the price you'd pay for sansom, you can get a real apartment and live like a normal person.

Email from Penn admissions while still waiting for news on Levy. Nope, just Spring Break at Penn Law. Well trolled, Penn.

I want to say that is the third email since "early March" is applicable from Penn that has had nothing to do with my scholarship decision. Four if you include the no-information financial aid email.

Got an email a few hours ago that I was selected to interview for the Toll scholarship, so rumors are correct they are rolling out today.

Wasn't thrilled about getting made an alternate for the JW scholarship, but was pleasantly surprised with my FN package when it came the other day - about 60k need/50k merit. I definitely wasn't expecting this much need aid, although I imagine it's now pretty unlikely I'll get moved up to a JW scholarship haha

Just got the alternative email for S-R, pretty depressing as I was really looking at Penn as top choice.
