Sorry to hear. What was your timeline like, if you don't mind my asking? I got into the game late and I'm expecting nothing, but figured I'd try.

I got my response the same day lol. I guess they didn't even consider it.

At least they answered? I'm not even sure they've received my email(s)...

Ugh, yes. Things that never used to irritate me are now trying my patience, haha. But you're right, I'll be real grateful for the 4 more months of income (I'm thinking about working until mid-August).

Just have to not lose all motivation to show up before then!

Not sure if this has already been discussed itt, but does anybody know why GULC has such low federal clerkship numbers? Just looking at raw numbers, GULC had the 2nd lowest number of clerkships in the T14 (ahead of only Cornell, who only had 3 less)

Should I infer that the answer is no from the lack of responses?

Probably has to do with how sought after clerkships in DC are - everyone wants them - so GULC students have to compete with all the top law schools on their home turf. Most of the other T14s dominate the clerkships in their geographic area. GULC doesn't have that luxury.

This, and also a fair number of GULC students don't want to travel to podunk nowhere to get their District Clerk on. Not saying that it's a smart move for people who want to clerk - but people who were on the fence (like me) did not value it enough to go for it.

Also, GULC's historically stingy scholarship money means more debt for students = less willing to suffer the income loss that clerking entails (barring some unicorn outcome like eventually becoming a SCOTUS clerk).

Though they don't seem AS stingy this year... I've heard of a couple of $150,000 merit schollies going out.

Sounds like it - maybe you guys'll be the one to turn this whole ship around. My year's just gonna take the BigLaw money n' run.

Sadly they have decided to strategically position the out of town receptions as far away from me as physically possible so.... no?

ED applicant got the merit aid offer today. I didn't expect anything at all so I'm beyond pumped to get some cash back.
