I just made a phone call to the Admission office, she said that they haven't finished reviewing all applications, and every applicant will be getting something at the end of this week.xtgg5020 wrote:When did you apply? the Georgetown Bar Review should be having their usual ASW meet-up at Kelly's Irish Pub at 8pm (after the dinner) - let's congregate in a corner there?Dipper wrote:Anyone want to grab a drink Thursday night?accessislife wrote:where's the TLS meet-up?

Re: Georgetown Law Class of 2018
The way I see it, I'll accept their offered scholarship, and some more thank you very much before actually committing to anything. While we're on the subject, how long did it take for people to receive a response to a scholarship negotiation email?JamesMcGillEsquire wrote:Curious about this as well. But regardless of whether or not it's binding, doesn't it seem like April 1st is the deadline for scholarship negotiations? I couldn't imagine haggling with them after sending a form telling them I intend to accept their offer...PKP319 wrote:Congrats to everyone that got PILS!
Quick question: Has anyone spoken with admissions about the April 1st deadline to commit for scholarships? I've seen some posts about it being a non-binding agreement unless you use the tuition deposit waiver, but what about just the April 1st commitment if you have plans of paying the deposit before the May 1st deadline?

Re: Georgetown Law Class of 2018
Correct me if I'm wrong, but if those who have already been offered $$ have an April 1st deadline to commit, does that mean that those of us who have not yet been offered anything will probably hear after that, when they have a better idea of how much money has been freed up?

Works for me. Although I got an email from the Latin American Students Association about a reception on Thursday night--I assume everyone got that, since I'm most definitely NOT Latin American (unfortunately).Dipper wrote:In!accessislife wrote:the Georgetown Bar Review should be having their usual ASW meet-up at Kelly's Irish Pub at 8pm (after the dinner) - let's congregate in a corner there?Dipper wrote:Anyone want to grab a drink Thursday night?accessislife wrote:where's the TLS meet-up?

If it continues to increase at this rate, we'll be paying 57,465 in 2L and 59,763 in 3L.
I was wondering the same thing. The Admitted Students site just says "2015-2016 Estimated Expenses will be available late spring."

How soon after acceptance did you start getting emails from GULC? I would have loved to attend the LASA reception, I just never heard anything from them loltuxedocat wrote:Works for me. ETA: Got an email maybe 5 minutes after posting this. Nevermind!

Re: Georgetown Law Class of 2018
Merit scholarship question!
I was admitted recently (got my physical letter 3/16), and I applied ED, so I'm not expecting to hear a peep about merit scholarships - however, I'd like to solicit just in case. Is consensus that I should wait a certain amount of time before soliciting, or just send an email now?
Thanks for advice!

so we agree the intent to enroll form is not binding? That's a relief, I just hope GULC is still willing to negotiate after that date

Thanks! Would anyone be willing to PM me or share their general approach to scholarship solicitation? I've been trying to write the e-mail and feel very awkward about it.buckiguy_sucks wrote:Even if there was a waiting period, one week is certainly long enough. Just got my scholly bumped up! Took them exactly one week to get back to me. I used my Dean's Fellowship offer from WUSTL if anyone is interested. FWIW, they never acknowledged receipt of my negotiation email.
99.99% sure I'll be joining you fine people at GULC next fall!
