This almost got lost in the craziness, apologies.

here is what I would do. Did your gpa go up or stay the same? Then yes, send. Did it go down? Then wait for them to ask!

All,

Love how a school admissions office has treated you? Had an ordeal or fiasco with them? Here is your chance to rank every law school you have applied to, based on your interactions with them. And we will blog, tweet, and release the results. Please spread the word as it doesn't have to be from this cycle alone. Enjoy!

Mike

Hi Spivey & KB -

"Am I crazy??" question for you both. I graduated 2 years ago. I took the June LSAT this year and got a 169; retook in Sept and my score went down. I submitted all my apps before I even got my 2nd score, and have so far gotten in at several T14s. I have strong softs from college/WE. The admits have me starting to think that I should register for the Feb LSAT to try and be more competitive at Harvard and Stanford. I was testing very well before Sept and think I really just had a bad day.

I know my time (and motivation) to study is already getting short ... so am I crazy for wanting to take another shot at the Feb LSAT? How much can I really move the needle at this point?

Thanks for your help!

I don't think you are crazy at all -- indeed I know a good deal of people who have done just that successfully.

I think you might be slightly crazy to give such tells to admissions people on TLS though! So you may want to redact a few things...like a did

EDIT: I also think you should fill out our survey :)

I promised the second I had something I would share it. The below may not be news to anyone, it is publically available. But a promise is a promise! I suspect the more granular data will be coming our way soon, given that this is out!

Per LSAC: "As of 11/28/14, there are 70,009 fall 2015 applications submitted by 11,415 applicants. Applicants are down 8.5% and applications are down 9.5% from 2014."

I will have data posted today on the Spivey Consulting website (as soon as I can get a PDF converted to word). I'll tweet it out in the meantime.

The results are wonderful for you all, ESPECIALLY people 170+ on LSAT. Prepare for some eye-popping excitement there.

While I am thrilled at this news overall (the legal field definitely needs fewer grads at this point, imo) I kinda feel bad because I feel like this could reflect a downturn in business for you, Mike. How does an admissions counseling outfit cope with shit like this? Just tighten up the belts?

That is very nice of you to say. We are busier than ever and things would likely have to get a lot worse for it to impact us. Also, as cheesy as this may sound it is sincere so I will say it, we get to know many clients really well and this is great news for them (and you all). So we sorta share in the happiness by-proxy. It's all good! Thanks again.

Based on that low 175-180 number, do you think schools like H with large class sizes might dip into lower GPAs to keep their high 75th mark? It's hard to see a really huge number of high scorers applying late.
