My reading of the rules is that you can access the personal belongings room at lunch, at least for Albany, I'm assuming it works the same for all NY testing sites. The email I received today from the NYBOLE states:

The Personal Belongings Room where you may store laptop bags, backpacks, purses, coats, jackets, lunchesand other items that are not permitted in the exam room will be located in the Capital Room on the first floor to right of the main entrance to the building on Eagle Street. All personal belongings are stored at your own risk. Do not bring your luggage to the exam as it will not be accepted in the Personal Belongings Room. And a previous email with rules for the exam stated: 9. Do NOT bring an electronic device or cell phone past the Security Checkpoint and/or in the exam room... 12. All outerwear and prohibited items must be left, AT YOUR OWN RISK, in the designated "Personal Belongings" room before going through the Security Checkpoint.

So it sounds like it's at your own risk to leave a cellphone in that room, but that it's fine to do so, the only thing they'll flat out refuse is luggage. I'd be sure to to turn your phone off while it's stored, and probably avoid taking it out/using it even remotely near the testing center to avoid the appearance of impropriety though. Personally, I'm at a hotel ~4.5 miles away from the testing center, so I'll need to bring a cellphone to get an uber home, I can't imagine them being like I have to walk an hour to/from the testing site.

That's what I assumed as well thanks! Just wanted to check if anyone with prior experience taking it at Javits has anything different to add. I will probably just leave my phone, lunch, and medication in the personal belongings room

Hello everyone!

Has anyone taken the bar exam at Albany Capital Center before (NOT Empire State Plaza), if so, are there any food vendors near by? ? I didn't reserve lunch yet and I don't know if that's necessary. Please advise.

I will be at Saratoga Springs, but I plan to bring my own lunch and leave it in the storage room. I don't think that it is necessary to order a lunch through the testing center - but I also don't know the food situation in Albany (Google Maps/Yelp, etc.?).

Hey everyone - does anyone know if we can bring our subway card in our plastic bag to the Javits center? It's not listed as one of the items we're allowed to bring into the testing room and just want to check before bringing a full metro card and having to toss it. Wasn't planning on leaving anything in the personal belonging room if at all possible. Thanks!

For anyone who's been in Albany-- is the line for the personal belongings room really insane? Debating whether to bring a bag for my laptop because i really don't want to just walk around with it but I don't want to risk being late. Any advice is appreciated!

Has anyone received an email from the third dept re admission requirements? Is this standard procedure or does this means that they basically almost done grading some people?

Just standard procedure as far as I understand.

They should be out midnight 22nd or the morning of the 23rd next week. If someone has an expired MPRE or NYLE but passes the UBE, are the subject lines/e-mails different than the standard "bar exam results" e-mails? I know passing pdfs are typically 35kb and failure notices are around 50kb to 70kb. Just curious, thanks in advance!

Unless things have changed since 2017, the subject line should be "July 2019 New York Bar Exam Results" and a PDF file under 30KB (arbitrary) is likely a pass.

FYI, unless this information is coming from BOLE directly, I don't see how the above poster can be so confident. While the 22nd/23rd are indeed plausible release dates based on 2017 and 2018, there is no guarantee results will be posted then. In 2014, 2015, and 2016, results came out on the 27th/28th, and even later in previous years. See https://www.jdadvising.com/when-will-th ... -released/

Hey folks! When you log in to your BOLE account and click on 'Transfer UBE Score', does it take you to the payment page or does it not load?

Payment screen loads but I'm not sure that means much...we just have to wait and see.
