Anyone pass MA bar without much studying?

Post by Aiyac » Fri Sep 07, 2018 1:52 am

I studied for the MBE for two weeks, if that. My scores on mini-practice-tests were all over the place. I did a total three practice essays. Somehow I passed. Mass. doesn’t release scores so I don’t know what mine was, but I know I at least did well enough to waive into D.C.

Honestly, I don’t understand. I only sat for the test because I figured it would be good practice and I’d already paid for it. I had no hope, not even an intention, of actually passing.

Maybe there was a mix-up with the scoring procedure? So, please, if this happened to anyone else, do say something.

OP should not fall for this trap—this is a character and fitness test. If you attempt to accept your law license after not doing your best on the exam they will ding you. Best course of action is to not go to swearing in/not complete the application, study properly for the bar, then take it again.

1) I don’t think MA has even released yet

2) I took the MA Bar a few years back before it was UBE and they definitely told you your MBE and essay scores. I doubt they would’ve changed it.
