Had similar numbers. A 129 on the midterm and a 135 on the final. Definitely felt the same, I really wanted to crack 140. I know it's passing, but I'm taking California, and very behind on essays, so am hoping for a strong MBE to soften the blow on my weaknesses in the essay portion.

The final was a bit harder, but I also thought there were more lengthier questions. I was actually 8 questions behind by the 3 hour mark (I didn't guess, just continued where I left off for the second 3 hours), and ultimately had to guess the last couple questions. I hope the actual MBE questions are a bit shorter.

I really do think we'll be ok with these numbers. From my research on TLS, it seems that Kaplan people see the biggest jump on the actual MBE because Kaplan's questions are clearly the most difficult. But yeah, I also need a high MBE score to cushion my essay portion. The practice MEE had a three-part partnership question and I swung and missed three times. Did not feel good.

Lol yeah same boat with that essay.

Do we know what the average is for the final yet?

Not yet. I think we got an email telling us to upload answers by the 12th. So we probably won't have any info until then.

It could be worse, I got a 152 on the midterm and dropped to a 139 on the final.

Everyone saw improvements? I coulda sworn this one was harder
I got a 146 on the midterm and dropped a point to a 145 on the final. I definitely think the final had a greater % of difficult questions than the midterm because I know the material a lot better and felt wishy-washy on way more questions on the final.

Important note - A few of the questions in the MBE book were totally different than the questions in the online answer grid. So depending on how you did on those questions, your score might be 3-4 points higher than you think (only if you used the book and entered your answers without looking).

There are a few. Look at number 53 for an example.

Anyone know if our MEE essays get graded? Seems like they push the self grading, but we did have to hit submit

The Kaplan Trusts lecture/outline sucks. I didn't take Trusts in law school and am having a difficult time absorbing the material. Most of the other lectures/outlines have lot's of examples to provide context, but not Trusts.

Yeah, the trust outline is garbage. I've resorted to just learning it from essay model answers, which does the trick just fine. Not worried too much. Can cobble it together down the stretch here.

My Real Property bar notes say that an easement by prescription needs exclusive use. That is wrong. Can anyone confirm both that I'm correct and that their RP outline has this incorrect?

In context, "exclusive" means that the use is not shared w/ the whole world (like path used by the public through someone's land). but the user claiming the easement by prescription may share use of the easement with the owner.

This is sad, I know, but I just submitted my first essay to be graded by Kaplan. The deadline is today.

Two questions: (1) how long does it take them to provide a grade, and (2) do they normally grade you down? For example, if they give you a 60, is that really a 65?

Grading takes a while. I submitted an essay Saturday morning and have yet to hear back. I think the main takeaway from Kaplan's emails this summer is that they don't feel like grading our essays.

No idea if they grade you down, but I went on an essay-submitting marathon today, too. Of the few I have actually submitted, some of them were graded up to 5 days, and others were graded less than 24 hours later. Doesn't seem to be consistent.

Is there any guidance or intel on how to judge where we are MEE wise? Also, should we expect that Kaplan's grades are un-scaled, and thus would be higher on the UBE, like with the MBE scores?

I self-graded an Evidence essay yesterday, thought I did well, and then the grade that came back was....not good. Other essays in other subjects have been fine, but since my MBE scores are all solid I'm just trying to figure out how to judge my essay progress.

How do you guys even compare Kaplan's MEE score with the actual bar one? Kaplan's is just a scale of 1 to 6 right?

Anyone else's MBE scores decreasing? I'm normally between 68-74% in the Qbank, but last couple days i'm below 62%. Not sure if the questions are getting harder (there's about 700 left in the bank), im burnt out, or getting dumber.

I am convinced Kaplan saves the worst questions for last. The questions I've done this week are all unclear. Some have typos.
