1. Notified of passing October 23rd; July 2018 exam
2. Mailed out October 23rd, office received October 24th; everything was lined up and ready. Just needed to pay for registration and print out certification.
3. No amendments necessary
4. Assigned Interviewer 11/1. Interview on 11/16
5. A bit more intense than people made it seem; talked a lot about values and life experiences.
6. No real concerns on application. Parted ways with a job on bad terms once, speeding tickets.
7. Notified of passing interview 11/26, took longer because of Thanksgiving holiday. Told at interview I should basically be admitted.
8. Swearing-in date 12/12

I guess the lesson in this is to have absolutely everything ready to go if you want to be sworn in the same year. I sent and received my affidavits, certification forms, pro bono forms from various people at least two weeks before even passing. Everything was ready to go the day results came out.
Did you request your driving record from the DMV so you could have documentation of the speeding tickets? Or did you just disclose on the application that you had them?

I'm 50/50 on whether I got a speeding ticket or just a warning when I was pulled over just around 10 years ago. I'm waiting to hear back from the DMV about my driving record, but I'm planning on disclosing.
I got DMV records. In one case where it was struck from record, I got a letter from the court. Probably way too over the top, but I had time to kill.
Thanks for the response. I'll way to hear back from the DMV before sending my application in.

Does anyone know when the next swearing in ceremonies will be? Are there more before the end of the year? I've completed my interview, just waiting on a date...

So what are some of the reasons for amendments and supplemental forms?

I submitted my application in person on December 14th. My interview occurred last Thursday, January 3rd. The interviewer signed off on my paperwork during the interview and said he'd fax it over to the Character and Fitness folks.

Now what?

(1) What, if anything, is the normal time frame between interview completion and swearing in?
(2) Should I expect notification via email or the postal service?

Hi, are you also in the Second Department?
I submitted mine in person on Dec-20th and so far nothing...Feeling really anxious.
May I ask how soon did you receive the news about the interview and how did you receive the news?

Thank you!

Received an email today with February 6th for the swearing-in. The email also said I "will be receiving . . . Admission Documents in the mail."

For the NY State Bar Application, do the Law-Related Employment Affirmations & the Affirmations of Good Moral Character need to be notarized??

Not anymore. The old ones had to, but the most recent version of the employment affirmation and moral character affirmation do not have to be notarized. However they do accept both.

Anyone have an idea when the March ceremony will be? I’m trying to plan a vacation. C&F interview is March 4 for me...do I get sworn in the next ceremony? (Assuming I pass)

I had my interview 01/08 and I'm being sworn in 02/27.

(That's a huge gap compared to the First Department.)

That’s quite a gap. Did you have any issues?

I have to take my MPRE in August. If I have everything else ready in regards to my application package, can I be sworn in before 2020?

Does anyone know when the November swearing in date might be? Or when that will become available? Trying to plan a few things around it. Thank you!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
