Has anyone else heard about the January ceremony? I've heard crickets. I'm pretty sure that the committee received my character and fitness report in July, August at the latest, too.lowdmouse wrote:"We are continuing to send out notifications. So far 500 applicants have been certified. If you do not receive a notice today for the December swear in you will be certified for the January 5th ceremony."

I was in a similar situation—radio silence during the week of November 27th regarding my C&F report and swearing-in ceremony. It took me calling the Committee on Admissions three times for them to get to my report, which they had since late September. My report was finally certified last Friday, and I will be sworn in on December 18th.
To anyone who has not yet heard from the Committee regarding your C&F report or swearing-in ceremony, I recommend calling them today. Be polite, and the lady who answers the phone will likely give you an honest answer. Call frequently enough, and the Committee will get to your report.

I got an email to participate in the ceremony on December 18th.
What I know so far (from my inquiries to COA) is,
1. you can bring family
2. ceremony lasts about an hour
3. should bring one notarized Supplement Questionaire (it's attached in the ceremony certification email)
What should I wear to the Ceremony? Suit and tie? Will they provide hats/gowns?
(didn't ask this because it may sound lame..)

You can bring family, but the ceremonies earlier this month were super crowded and family has to go to an overflow room. Security lines at the court were really long. You will also have to fill out a separate registration form provided at the swearing in.hs8738 wrote:I got an email to participate in the ceremony on December 18th.

No caps and gowns, it's not a graduation. You should wear a suit and tie.
I am still waiting for my bar number and fee statement.

Yes, my Bar ID shows up in the top-right when I log into my account on the DC bar website. I was sworn-in in early December.

How did you get a login? I entered my email and it just says "no match found." Did you create an account?2000220002 wrote:Yes, my Bar ID shows up in the top-right when I log into my account on the DC bar website. I was sworn-in in early December.
