I just got something in the mail from the State Bar of Texas & my heart stopped. Then I saw my address was clearly computer mailing list entered. Why would they send me an After the Bar NOW?!?! I already got one!!! So cruel!!!!

I wish those meant something. Hahaha. I got one of those after I failed last time around.

Wait a minute, those "After the Bar" letters don't come from the State Bar, don't they come from a third party?

A few people tweeted at Willett asking if the results might come out today. He said nope.

FWIW last year the release date was Monday, May 2. Results dropped ~1pm on Friday April 29.

Don't expect results today. Sorry. I know the last few days are agonizing. :(

I wonder why if they're ready (which I'd be very surprised if they weren't), they just don't release them? Like why wait?

How does one get a 674? I thought that if you were between 669-675 you were automatically re-graded and pretty much 100% of those got enough extra points to get over the hump? Watch, now I'll get a 674 ha.

Tell that dream to suck it! It's never happened before. If you fall in between 5-10 points of passing that's an automatic reviewer and every review has yielded a passing score.

Edit: I don't know the score range for the automatic review but someone above me stated it.

It is within 5 points you get an automatic review/regrade... I failed by 8 point in July which was torture!

Right, so shouldn't a score of 674 be impossible?

I wouldn't say it's impossible, but they state somewhere on the website that every review has yielded a passing score, because they're only allowed to add points and not take off.

We pray to have the "7" converted to an "8". It is possible. We must get it.

How do people know this? Like, I know they do regrades, but how do you know almost every regrade ends up being a pass? If your exam does get regraded and you pass, they don't tell you. And the bar is pretty protective about its grading methods. I'd say a 674 is unlikely but it most certainly can happen.

I don't see how someone could get a 674? Back in 2004 (I think?) they did what essentially amounted to an audit of the exam and somewhere in that document it mentioned the 100% re-grade rate.

They say so on their website, I'll try to find the link, but it's stated in there somewhere.

Here is what everyone is talking about I think.

If you go to the exam statistics section, and look at the 2013 psychometric audit of the exam, the relevant information is in there. If you score 669 or below you fail. If you score 675 or above, you pass. If you score 670-674, you are automatically re-graded and, from TWO separate administrations, it was revealed that those applicants whose exams were re-graded passed 100% of the time after the regrade. Thus, it would be mathematically impossible for anyone to achieve a score of 670-674.

I don't believe this conclusion is warranted. If the re-graders may, but not shall, add points upon a regrade, then it follows that they may regrade at the same or higher score. That all of the recent regraded failing scores within the threshold passed upon a regrade is empirical evidence that those regraded exams passed during those particular administrations of the bar exam, but not that it is "mathematically impossible for anyone to achieve a score of 670-674".

Good luck with the results, everyone.

Let me re-phrase. It would be impossible for anyone to end up with a score of 670-674 AFTER their exam is re-graded.

Due to medical issues there's pretty much ZERO chance I passed so I decided not to take this last MPRE offered...now watch, there will be a blizzard in West Texas and I'll pass but can't go to the ceremony anyway....I'm ok with that "disappointment" ....LOL. Good Luck everyone!

Why? Is there a rule that compels a regraded exam in the 670-674 to be given a passing score?
