Attending Barbri in person vs. working at home Forum

Is there any reason to attend the classes rather than watching everything at home and doing the work here? i was planning to go to the school for Barbri prep but I'm finding it's easier to just work from home. Anyone have experience or thoughts on this?

Depends on how self disciplined you are. Some need scheduled live classes or they tend to procrastinate too much.

I started attending in-class, realized the waste of time involved in commuting, and now work exclusively from home. Work from home has proved to be the superior method so long as you are self-motivated as others have stated.

I like it, as I save time on the commute. Plus, I have a tendency to detour when I'm out.

well, with barbri, I don't see why you would need the motivation of waking up and going to a lecture that you cant pause or fast forward.

The PSP assignments and percentage completion meters etc etc are more than enough to scare the crap out of you and make you feel guilty for not studying. I actually wish there was an app like that for law school itself, for me at least.

I live 5 blocks ffrom my live classes, not worth it at all. I need a break, or just some sugar, at some point during the lecture. and depending on who is talking, you really can/should speed it up. I've taken so many advanced civ pro classes, and crim classes, for example, no way im listening to those at even 1.25x.

Live classes, I mean live-teacher not live video, are way better!! it is real..

I spend 2 hours commuting to live class... feeling good.

My test center is streaming video so I'm not doing that
I have no problem with self-discipline but it's kind of boring to work at home/in coffee shops
on the other hand, I watch everything 1.5x-2x so it goes quickly

So between the commute and not being able to speed up the lecture, you're wasting about 3.5 to 4 hours a day just for a "real" experience.

1. I enjoy going to LIVE class.. meeting all profs.

2. I do lots of video watching and essay memorizing on subway.

3. it it nice to walk!! GOOD workout for bar days.

Surely, I will save time after the MBE subjects end, which is june 23.
